Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainNothing at all!
We’ve just checked out of Legacy Hoi An after a 6 night stay - we were originally only meant to stay for 3 nights but we loved the place so much that we decided to extend and we’re so happy we did. Everything about this place is wonderful, from its idyllic location on the outskirts of Hoi An (surrounded by rice fields and slowly grazing buffalo) to the beautiful rooms (absolutely huge with a fantastic split-level layout and very comfy beds) and the kindness and attentiveness of its staff (special mention to Lan, Linh, Phi and Chau on reception who were so kind and couldn’t do enough for us). The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and impeccably maintained, as are the swimming pools and the spa is also fantastic - we had the best 90 minute massage there that we’ve experienced in Vietnam, which is a very high bar! We were travelling for our honeymoon and the staff were kind enough to make up our room specially and serve us cake when we arrived (and when we decided to extend our stay), they truly went above and beyond to make us feel special. If you’re debating the hotel’s location in favour of something in central Hoi An, don’t let this stop you - the hotel puts on a regular complementary transfer to the town and taxis are easy to come by and very cheap. We even walked into town one afternoon - there’s lots of coffee shops along the route to break up the walk. Hoi An, although beautiful, can also feel a little hectic so it was nice to return to the peace and quiet of the hotel each evening - it felt like a little oasis of tranquility. Thank you so much again to all the team at Legacy for such a wonderful stay - we’re very sad to be leaving but so happy to have been and hope very much to return one day :)

VietnamI wish there was an iron in the room and the treadmills in the gym were a bit outdated.
The property is clean, modern, aesthetically pleasing and has sockets all over the room. There’s a swing in the courtyard accompanying the balcony. There are two sinks in the room, ample closet space, a large bathtub and shower with hot water and strong water pressure. Breakfast was fantastic.

It’s not the most polished hotel , it’s not the most luxurious but it has heaps of character and the staff are amazing , the location is magical . And I miss it !!

South AfricaThe hotel staff was friendly, however they could be less suspicious about small things like umbrellas being used during the rain and then asking numerous times to bring them back to reception.
The hotel is in a good location, although not close to the middle of Hoi An, but the hotel has a shuttle bus and could arrange taxi's. The room was clean and the decor tasteful. The breakfast was very good, but during the Sunday breakfast the staff took very long to restock the food and there were a lot of flies. Would recommend investing in fans over the food area to deter flies.

AustraliaThe resort itself is wonderful. Green, lush and away from the bustle of old town. We loved having connecting rooms with the kids so we could have our own down time when needed. A taxi ride (grab) to the old town was quick and cheap. Could have easily stated longer

NetherlandsThe swimming pool and especially the surrounding sun loungers area was slightly smaller than we had expected.
Hotel is just across the bridge from Hoi An’s main area , less than a 10-min walk or an easy ride on their free bikes. Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and all you need, though a comfy chair would be a nice touch. Rates are very fair. What really makes this place special is the staff ; Anna at reception, Jessie front of house, and bellboyalways on hand to help with bikes. The short walk meant we enjoyed an oasis of calm and quiet, away from the bustle (heat aside!). A perfect base to explore.

FrancePeaceful Escape Surrounded by Nature We had a lovely stay at Legacy Hoi An Resort, a truly peaceful hotel nestled among rice fields and surrounded by nature. It’s located a bit outside the center of Hoi An, which makes it perfect for those looking to relax in a quiet and serene setting. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A special thank you to Loan and the reception team, who were incredibly kind, helpful, and always made us feel welcome. The food at the hotel is very good, with a variety of options ranging from authentic Vietnamese cuisine to more Western-style dishes, so there’s something for everyone. The breakfast buffet also offers a wide selection catering to both Eastern and Western tastes. The pools are beautiful and set in peaceful areas with lovely views. However, it would be nice if there were more sun loungers, as they tend to fill up quickly. The shuttle to the Old Town is convenient and makes getting to the center easy, though a few more departures would be even better. Thankfully, the resort also provides free bicycles, which are a great way to explore the surroundings. Overall, Legacy Hoi An Resort is a wonderful choice if you're looking to unwind in nature while still having easy access to the town. Highly recommended!

SwitzerlandGym is well equipped, but definitely requires periodical cleaning of equipment and well maintained stock of available towels, paper towels & disinfectant.
Amazing hotel, tall grown plants between the building create pleasant shade and unique experience. Best service of what we experienced in Vietnam overall. Location is nice and quite, with few small restaurants 5 minutes by foot, or Hoi An old town 10 minutes with taxi. Hotel restaurant were good too, but more expensive. Pools very nice and maintained ok.

AustraliaBreakfast was great, the selection was very extensive and changed each day. The location was slightly out of town but that is exactly what we wanted, nestled in the rice paddies and near the coconut river. There is two pools and one overlooks the paddocks. There is options for yoga classes, massages, saunas and steam rooms and many more. The staff were expectional, Lan took great care of us and showed us around. Would highly recommend it exceeded all our expectations.

Nice secluded area, i liked the area very much away from the busy streets of Hoi an.
