How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewCentral location, perfectly adequate no-frills room.
Bring earplugs! Just off the hectic & noisy main drag. Hostel itself is tranquil & calm.

Verified reviewIt was a great location and the aircon was fabulous. Great secluded space for ourselves. It was easy walking distance to everything, we even walked ourselves to Tan Dinh. Lily was very helpful and helped us check in even late at night, helped us plan our way to the airport too. Thank you so much!
The sink dripped from below but it didn’t bother us that much just gave us a fright a few times. The water pressure was weak and we heard music from the street but still fell asleep with no problems

Verified reviewBreakfast was simple yet good. The room was honestly good, just that the location was not really ideal because it was a party street. We weren't aware it was.
The bathroom was small, which was like a trigger for claustrophobia. Overall, the room was nice and clean. It was still a good room for the amount we paid for.

Verified reviewReally nice room in a very buzzy area. Everything was clean and Lily was lovely! Helped us with finding some great food spots. Would stay again.
Bring some ear plugs because in the evening it gets pretty noisy. Also as suite case users we struggled a bit getting them up the stairs. But it was well worth the hassle!

Verified reviewLily was very helpful and friendly. We did the cu chi tunnels through the hostel and it was great. We did rock up on a busy nightlife when 1st arriving and were slightly worried, but this hostel is surprisingly away from the noise and off the street.

Verified reviewAfter travelling South East Asia for the last 6 months, this is the first 10/10 we have given! Lily is so friendly and helpful and can’t do enough for you. She gives lots of helpful advice and answers any questions you have. You can book tours to Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta through her, as well as laundry, which was done in less than a day. The location is very central and the room was great, with a very comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious and there is a big fridge full of drinks, which are cheaper than the 7-11. Although it is close to Bui Vien street and you can hear the bars at night… it was never loud enough to affect our sleep. We would 100% stay here again!

Verified reviewWe really liked the woman who ran the place. Very sweet, generous and helpful. She made the breakfast every day. We stayed for 3 nights spending our last days in Vietnam there. The room was small and a little barren, and the bed wasn't so comfy. It was clean. The bathroom was separated from the room with a frosted glass wall, so you didn't have privacy, really.. Location was chosen because it is central and so it was a little noisy from the party street it is directly on. That stopped at some point in the night though. HOWEVER we did choose the location ourselves, we just didn't know exactly what it was like. And since we didn't come to party it wasn't a plus in itself. It's 15 minutes from Ben Thrang market, which we didn't enjoy. It's huge with many different shops, but they all sell the same.
Bed was not so comfy.

Verified reviewThe room was nice, and although we had read in many comments that it was noisy because of its location, our room was not noisy at all and we could sleep very well! Breakfast is included and Lily cooks it for you in the morning!
The bathroom/shower was mouldy, should be renewed. Not much social atmosphere

Verified reviewGood breakfast. Reception woman was kind and helping.
Not suitable for family stay. The place is right in the middle of night life walking street

Verified reviewStaff (Lynn) was very helpful and friendly. It was close enough to the hussle, but far enough away the noise didn't disturb my sleep too much. Breakfast was very good... missed my English Breakfast Tea.
Only down side was my room was right at the top (3rd floor). Did not forward to that after a day walking around the city. 🥵

Verified reviewLin! She was easily the best part of our stay. If we were leaving a review based purely on our host it would be a ten. Easily the nicest we have had on our travels so far. Thank you Lin. The location is really central and lots to see and do in the area. The tours they provide are really good too.
Whilst the location is one of the major positives, it is also a slight drawback, as it can be very noisy. Depending on which room you are in the noise level varies. Lin very kindly suggested we change room after our first night - again she was the best! The bed in our second room was not as comfortable though and also the room a bit tired / damp. But thats if we are nitpicking.

Verified reviewFantastic location, and price + The host is lovely.
There is a little bit of noise that leaks into the rooms from Bui Vien walking street, and a lot of construction nearby that starts early in the mornings. Shower was very low pressure.

Verified reviewGreat friendly little hostel. Clean and comfortable. Great value for money.
It was great. Despite being near the party street is is not as loud as you would expect. We were prepared for noise and it was better than we expected.

Verified reviewThe lady on reception was lovely. We chatted numerous times and she gave recommendations for places to eat and places to go. The hostel was clean, with a nice aesthetic. The air con broke whilst we were there but they sorted it so quickly. Amazing customer service.
Sadly the big downside was the location. It is just behind THE party street in HCMC which we hadn't realised when booking. The clubs go on until 5am. The noise and bass meant we had disrupted sleep every night. It might be ok for a night or 2 but we'd booked for 5. In the end we checked out a day early and stayed elsewhere. It's a shame this street has taken off like this since COVID. I'm sure before this was a perfect hostel.
