How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A couple of small improvements would make a huge difference, particularly to the first impression of the hotel. A fresh coat of paint in reception and dining areas, along with a new carpet on the stairs, would transform the initial guest experience.
Omina Hotel has excellent staff, really helpful and genuinely interested in their customers. They organised tours for us, which took the stress out of that process. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Old Town, with all the sights, sounds and smells that come with that. Price is competitive, in line with similar tourist hotels. Breakfast was lovely, catering to both Western and Eastern tastes.

A couple of simple suggestions: The reception area decor, along with that in the dining room, is a little jaded. A fresh coat of paint, along with changing the carpet on the stairs, would make a significant improvement to the first impression given to guests upon arrival.
Omina Hotel has several key assets: The staff are super friendly, genuinely interested and helpful. The location in Hà Nội Old Quarter is excellent, giving guests a real sense of the atmosphere, sights, sounds and smells of Hà Nội. Breakfast options were really good, catering to both European and Asian tastes. Bearing in mind that the hotel is pitched to 3-star tourist standard, the pricing and facilities are perfectly appropriate.

Nothing, they were great!
Everything! We stayed twice with them. The hotel has a great location, good breakfast and the staff were wonderful with us. Helped us when we need. They were extremely kind. I appreciate it and recommended! Definitely, we'll come back.

This is a great base right in the centre of the old quarter. Would totally recommend. Very clean, staff very helpful. Breakfast good.

If you're going to Hanoi, you should stay here. I usually don't write reviews but wanted to here because not only were the facilities nice and clean, but the hotel staff was lovely. They genuinely wanted to help us at every turn, including helping us find the best prices. They never pressured us to purchase any additional services or write a review. They really earned it!

Ruby and her staff are very special. I became ill when I was there and they were all so kind and helpful. They will go uot their way to make your stay enjoyable. Right in the heart of the old quarters and plenty of excursions available. Thank you again Ruby and all you staff.

All the staff were extremely friendly, with special mention to Vivienne! Above and beyond helpful. They even packed a take-away breakfast for our early morning flight!. Everything went very smoothly and a great location. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The facilities are not the newest, but for the price of the room more than enough!
The staff was exceptionally friendly, I have never experienced it this friendly ever before. They were super helpful and even called me by my name most of the time. The location of the hotel is great & and the room was very clean.

Staff were super. We got a free upgrade when we arrived as it was our first time and we were thrilled with that. The staff couldn’t have done more for you. Nothing was ever an issue. Great value for money, great location and highly recommend.
