Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe knew what we were getting. The bugs were an issue in the room every morning. Not sure if the hotel has complete control, but it was still worth the stay.
Location was right there on the beach. The price was right, and staff was helpful.

CroatiaCommunication, very bad in english. You need to use google translate all the time. We paid addional fee for late check out, but on our last day staying there, we needed to pack our bags at 9am and move out. They've sent us to other bungalow without explanation and any previous notice (even regular check out is untill noon). We were there 6 days...
Great location, in front of the nice beach (one minute by foot).

AustraliaThings were broken or in poor condition (eg bedside lamp plug broken, shower head rusty, bathroom sink pipe leaked water). The beach bungalows were very expensive for what you for what you got and the food was very average.
It was basic but reasonably comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful

HungaryHowever, I wouldn't return for the following reasons: - We asked for change of rooms as the one we got initially was looking at a pile of garbage instead of the ocean. It was super loud as there is beach party every day every night. The bungalow was full of ants, the lights and warm water was not working. After the change we decided to stay but it was still very noisy (earplugs recommended). - If you want to use the beach of the resort, you have to pay for the bean bag or buy something. - Unlike the pictures, there is no gym, it is used as a storage room. - The bed is uncomfortable, the springs stick out of the bed. - The breakfast was ok, not a big selection and not high quality. - The cleanliness of the room was great, however, not the rest of the areas of the resort (e.g. shared toilets are disgusting).
Spent a week in Phu Van Resort in a beach front (ocean view) bungalow. The location is great, there is everything a tourist possibly needs during the stay and easy access to the beach. The bungalow is quite spacious, the cleaning lady was nice and overall we enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomWe had lots of ants in the bathroom and found a few in our bed. We went to the local supermarket and bought some bug spray to deal with the issue. Bugs are to be expected on the island. The beach area attached to the hotel is basic, and in the evening you have to pay to sit on the bean-bags even if you're a guest of the hotel.
The hotel was affordable and in a good location with direct access to the beach, and plenty of shops/restaurants near by. The breakfast was okay. The island is recovering from COVID so I think many hotels like this one lack the funds to invest in keeping everything on-site fully operational and to a very high standard (they need more customers to generate the funds, so don't be too put off by bad reviews. If you want 5 star you need to pay much more elsewhere!)

NetherlandsUpon arrival we were told that it was not possible to pay by credit card. Paying with dollars was possible, but with a ridiculous exchange rate. There was only 1 staff member who speaks English, further communication had to be done with the translation app.
Good quiet resort with a comfortable room. Nice terrace in front of the bungalow.

PortugalThey asked for 10% fee by paying with credit card, because of taxes, but taxes were already included in the booking price. Poor facilities and service on the private hotel beach. Poor breakfast and no restaurant or bar.
Friendly staff, but it was Impossible to communicate without Google translator. They allow us to stay after the check out time because our fligth was at night. Good bungalow near the beach and a good swimming pool.

VietnamGenerally the whole resort is very tired and definitely needs some development. The gym is gone, now being used to store broken air conditioners. The breakfast was a bit limited, with the same few dishes repeating every other day. It was a buffet though, so that was good. The worst thing was the surprise 10% card fee. I know a 3-5% card fee is normal but 10% is disgusting. As I stayed for 10 nights I actually paid for 11 nights.
Staff were pleasant and helpful and the location was solid, with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The beach was close too, about a five minute walk from the back of the property. Room was a good size,

SwedenSecond day we were out from early morning and came home late evening and found our bungalow door open like 30 cm, I spotted it from far. Probably left open by cleaning. After that we didn’t feel too comfortable. Breakfast was a lot of food. They did have noodles and eggs cooked on spot. Otherwise no signs on any food in the metal containers. They had put towels on the handles and from previous experience you’d think that means it too hot to touch but almost everything was cold. To pay with card they add 10%.
Wifi worked good. Beach close by with easy access from hotel. Staff at breakfast were nice and helpful even though no English was spoken. First night we had a problem with electricity in our room and went to reception, someone just about to leave helped and called for someone else and soon problem was fixed!

ThailandEverything was wrong since you walk in. The staff greeted you with We are fully booked!! Not even ask that we have a reservation or not until we show them that we have a reservations for 5 rooms for 8 nights . We booked in advance almost 3 months and even messaged them directly that we expect the room we really booked. We are big family with 10 adults and 5 kids. The staff was no English and give us the wrong room without explain anything . The said was upgraded but was downgraded. We mentioned since we messaged after booked that we don’t want beach bungalow room but they still give us that room. It was smaller with bad condition some room was no hot water, toilet seat was moldy. Give the room for a mather with 3 y.o. Boy close to the restaurant with a terrible loud music. We tried to argue with the manager or the owner that he mentioned that he built the hotel for changing the room he give promise that he will but we didn’t get any. We can‘t move because we stay over New year holidays everything fully and not easy for us to find place for big family. And the room really not worth as the price we paid at all. The was a very very bad experience in Vietnam especially this hotel. It was really felt like cheating not only our family that got this situation our neighbor room also got the same situation as us even they went to the hotel the booked the room since March that which room they they want. We will never come back.

United KingdomI am disappointed to write that this hotel does not live up to expectations. Firstly, the Superior Room we booked did not “boast a walk-in shower” but an over-bath shower, your description not ours. The room was extremely dated and in need of modernisation. Whilst the room was spacious, it smelt musky with signs of damp penetration to the left of the window and below the window cill. Not great conditions for anyone’s health especially since my wife suffers with COPD. The room (004) had a limited view and was accessible via a rather dirty communal balcony. We carried our suitcases four long flights of stairs (granted there was some minimal help to start with) to the second floor (2 long flights per floor) since there wasn’t a lift. The air conditioning was ineffective and in general the room was far from adequate, the pictures on the App and hotel website must be at least 5 years old judging by current conditions. How this room can be described as ‘Superior’ is beyond me. Needless to say we complained and, after much toing and froing we were moved to a bungalow (room 423); this was better however, we could only stay here until 28th December as they were fully booked and had to then return to the original inferior room 004. Room 423 also had its issues, mattresses were stained, the suspended ceiling tiles in the shower room had moss growing from it, the wash basin was stained, cracked and in a sorry state, the ceiling extractor in the bathroom was disgustingly filthy, the electrics were constantly tripping and lights permanently flickering, the front door lock then failed halfway through our stay and our room wasn’t made up on this day either (24/12). As part of the toing and froing we were offered two alternative rooms and neither was an improvement, in fact I’d say they were worse, one room didn’t even have a window and the damp smell was so overpowering.
Good location to Duong Dong for bars, restaurants and shops. Nice size pool and access to a very small beach area. Nice little private beach bar!

United KingdomVery poorly maintained property. Main hotel building seems to be a furniture and bedding dumping ground. Floors and surfaces in common areas, breakfast room floor, patio etc require deep clean with hot water. The photographs on the website do not reflect the state of the property currently. Lots of areas where random items are dumped.
The property has beach access.
