How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great hostel, great family room, great location that was quiet despite its central location. Staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend.

The breakfast although of big plus because it is very cheap but lack of variation. With my 4 mornings of the same choice of breakfast is boring, BUT AS I SAID, IT IS OF MINIMAL PRICE WHICH IS A POSITIVE TO THE HOTEL/HOSTEL 😉

Tight space sharing a 6 bed room for our group of 5 but we managed.
Good location and the hostel organised airport pick up at a cost. Lovely buffet breakfast and good value for money.

This is our 2nd stay at Phan Anh Hotel and we really like the location, breakfast, cleanliness and value for money. As a family of 4 the family room was spacious and quiet. The staff are helpful and friendly. I recommend staying here as it's near or a short taxi ride to many sights and markets. I hope we can come back again one day!

Some extra towels and toilet paper in the room would be nice.
Great location and value for money. Owner spoke good English and recommended some excellent Vietnamese restaurants and itinerary options for our trip. We enjoyed the free breakfast and spacious family room.

Mattresses could have been softer but seems to be a standard I Vietnam to have stiff mattresses

It's a hostel. My family had great time as there are family rooms. Great location, Neat clean, comfortable beds, staff helped us in whatever we needed and made our stay comfortable. Breakfast was good. Overall value for money.

Very kind staff, convenient location with a big supermarket and market very close. We booked a tour for Mekong Delta and it was good. Rooms also are convenient and clean

The a/c was just cool enough. The young gentleman who is usually at the front desk during the day has a slight air of indifference.
It is an excellent location, on a quiet alley a short distance to Bui Vein and just around the corner from a beautiful market. The owner, Miss Hang, is very nice. Airport pick ups and drop offs were fairly priced and very efficient.

Nothing for me personally and if I was travelling to HCMC myself as a solo traveller I’d recommend this place.
Stayed here as part of the G Adventures group tour. Firstly the location is perfect! Loads of shops, restaurants and stuff to do nearby. Also within walking distance to the busy areas however you can easily get a taxi if you’d prefer. The owners cooked us a great meal on arrival day as well as let us leave our luggage on the day we checked out. All in all a great place to stay!

Wifi did not really reach rooms.
I stayed in the dorms one night - clean and comfortable but not great water pressure. The private room was very spacious and clean with great water pressure. It’s a super easy area to walk around in can get a little noisy but overall slept well . Helpful staff !

Fantastic Location -close to bus pickups, Central market and Ben Thanh Market,Walking Street, park, restaurants. Down quiet safe laneway. No outside noise. Felt very safe and secure. Family room was very clean, spacious and comfortable for 4 of us. Breakfast was delicious. Staff very helpful, available 24/7. Small fridge in room.

Very noisy air conditioner. Shower fitting was broken, water was not hot. Thick dust under the beds and an old sock. Single bed was very hard and we asked for some extra padding but there was none.

Water was not always hot, there were many times in the day when the "hot" water was just lukewarm
Location is down a small alleyway and until you know it is there, it can be difficult to locate. However, the location is very central and excellent for the area
