Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI wish there was coffee included in the breakfast, otherwise it was great
The beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean, simple breakfast, and it had a nice rooftop. The staff was also great. Hai immediately made me feel super welcomed as soon as I arrived and I really enjoyed having him at the hostel.

United KingdomOnly thing is there was some building work in the morning starting at 7am which was SO loud and the power all went out for a couple of hours. Not sure if this was to do with the hostel but a bit of warning would have been appreciated.
Most comfortable hostel bed I’ve ever stayed in! Very clean room and showers were hot with good water pressure. Location in the old town is also really good I walked everywhere. Free breakfast very basic but decent.

Puerto RicoThe room in the second stay was not so good. The bed light was not working and the staff do nothing about it. The bathroom was too narrow and the lavatory drainage was stuck.
I stay in two different moments. The thing I liked best was the location. The second, the breakfast. It was very, very good. In the first stay the room and bathroom were perfect. But the room in the second stay was not so good. The bed light was not working and the staff do nothing about it. The bathroom was too narrow and the lavatory drainage was stuck.

AustraliaBecause it is a big team and most likely changes relatively frequently there are some good staff and some not too friendly. I expect that accounts for at least some of the mixed reviews you will read about this hostel. The thing I really didn’t like about the hostel is that after a shower the whole bathroom floor was wet which meant that you would get wet feet just going to the toilet And since it’s a shared bathroom this is a little bit unpleasant. You also don’t have access to a kitchen to prepare your own food, or a refrigerator to keep your water cool.
This hostel has the things you would expect from a hostel. The rooms are clean and simple. The storage lockers are a really good size. For the most part the room is comfortable in terms of temperature unfortunately on one night they did not switch on the air conditioning and it was a little bit too hot The beds are perhaps a little too hard. There are Power points and a light next to the bed and the curtain insures privacy. The pool is on the top floor and is accessible by walking up the last flight upstairs. It is a great place to cool down. It was closed on one day for cleaning the water. The breakfast is a choice off the menu. The coffee and tea with milk is extra . I guess this is reasonable for the price you pay. They have different activities that you can join in, some have cost and some free. The folks downstairs at the Bookings are pretty helpful, however as a Backpacker you are also likely to go and check out a number of places before you book any tours. For me the location was great and using Google Maps I was able to navigate the public transport to get to places like the military museum which is a fair distance away. The Train Street, market, train Bridge, are all a short distance away and you can walk to the mausoleum, the temple of literature, the lake, other temples and other pagodas. You can take a bus to and from the airport or use Grab.

ItalyThe sink is positioned in the bedroom making it a mission not waking up everyone if needed during the night. Unfortunately there is no shared kitchen and my room had no windows, maybe not the best for claustrophobic people.
I ended up extending my stay since everything about it was basically perfect! The staff is always at your disposal, both during the day and night which is a huge preference of mine! The room are cleaned everyday and there are many comfortable common areas. The area is safe and strategic just outside the old quarter buzz. Shoutout to the young staff, everyone super friendly😊

United KingdomMy assigned room (402) had no window so there was no ventilation; it felt claustrophobic at times.
Location is excellent and the staff really pleasant and helpful. There are lots of planned activities for guests such as the free beer between 7 - 8 p.m., and the breakfast was good (coffee unfortunately was not included!). Hostel handles a wide variety of tours which is always a plus.

MexicoNeed to put down a towel and key deposit of 200k in cash (though it is returned at the end of stay). Must pay a 3% fee if paying by card. Housekeeping comes in every time someone checks out so forget about sleeping in. Staff is also slightly passive aggressive so it was kind of a weird vibe checking in and out.
Location is good and rooms are clean. Beds are very comfortable and space for belongings is grand. There is free breakfast, made to order, served until 10am (if I remember correctly) and a common space where you can lounge on bean bag chairs and work if you need to. There is also a lift which is a HUGE plus.
