How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAccomodation is top. Quiet and peaceful. 2nd short stay hear and enjoyed it like the first one!
Nothing really. Would've been nice to have better public transport connection to District 1, but thats not something the host could really do about it.

Verified reviewQV Home is fantastic. The owner, Mr. Trey (pronounced Cheu), and Thu take amazing care of all the guests, and truly treat you like family. Quiet beautiful very Vietnamese neighborhood - away from the tourists, but still within a short Grab ride of everything. Many restaurants around and other businesses to cover your needs. There is a 24/7 Minimart a short walk away. The rooms are big and clean, there is a wonderful shared kitchen and living room.

Verified reviewEverything is really good.
The location is not in downtown so it might be inconvenient for people who want to visit the famous destinations of Ho Chi Minh City. But because it doesn’t locate in the downtown so you can see the real local life around and it’s really good for relaxing as the place is really quiet.

Verified reviewThe neighborhood is a hidden gem, safe, secure with a great view. The house is new and clean, fully equipped. Super quiet, ideal for my work purposes. The common area has a piano which is a huge plus for me
Issues will be addressed promptly, so you just need to talk to the host any problems you may have. I don't really have any.

Verified reviewI had a fantastic stay here. The host is incredibly kind and friendly, always willing to accommodate guests’ needs. For instance, I needed an early check-in and a late check-out, and it was no problem. He even offered to take me to a museum for free. The lobby area is fantastic, with a kitchen and a cozy, atmospheric interior. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It had a work desk, which was perfect for me to use my computer. The shower was excellent, and there was a small but charming balcony. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Ho Chi Minh City. Highly recommended!
It’s a bit far from the city center, but that makes it more peaceful compared to the bustling center.

Verified reviewLovely family and homestay, which is in a quiet part outside Ho Chi Minh city. Local area with no tourists at all! Takes about 20 - 30 mins into the center of Ho Chi Minh by bike about 30,000 - 50,000 VND depending on location and time. Great if you want to stay in the real part of Vietnam and be with locals. The family is really kind and dropped me to the airport for free! I'm happy to help with anything. The place was clean and quiet. Nice few places nearby for coffee or food from the street!
The beds were a bit hard, although this seems to be the case in all of Vietnam!
Thank you very much

Verified reviewHow clean it was.
I didn’t like how I was treated as a foreigner. Everyone kept saying laowei laowei all the time. 6 million dong of mine was stolen. I had jet lag and the security guard got pisses off I would order grab at 4 or 5 am and he yelled at me one time. People weren’t sure if I was from India or Canada. Some people asked if I had a baby. All in all I felt really uncomfortable. If you are a person of color like me try to think twice before coming to racist Vietnam.
Hi Sonia, We are very sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience at our home. We always strive to make all our guests feel welcoming! The security guard you mentioned is for the entire neighbourhood and not QV Home’s, but we will provide him with feedback so that our next guests will not feel the same way you do, so thank you for that! We do not understand the part where you mentioned 6 million dong of yours was lost. Your entire stay costed 1.38M dong and you paid this yourself. Lastly, other negative remarks seemed to us that those are not related to QV Home, and might have stemmed from outside of QV Home. If you have more concrete feedback for us, we would of course lend you an ear! Thanks, QV Home

Verified reviewThe place was very clean and situated in a quiet complex with a little park with trees and seats right next to it. It is a bit of a main road but I walking distance to several food vendors with delicious pork soup from 25 000. Also places with good expresso coffees. The owner where exceptional, and I know most people in South East Asia are but this couple really where on top of the list, honest and helpful, with anything you require. I only stayed for 2 days and it was my first time in Vietnam, due to a cheap flight. His sister took me around on her motorbike and it gave me a really good impression of how large the city is. It is clean, with interesting architecture that had obviously put a lot of love and thought into the design. Many trees and everyone seem to love flowers. I felt completely safe and supported. The home stay has LGE rooms with lots of light and a kitchen and a tasteful dining room. I'll will choose it again, when I go back to Vietnam
There was nothing not to like about the home stay. Be aware of online visa scams, they shout not be more then A$ 10 (I paid A$134 even though it looked like an official website). In the end only the airline asked to see it with check in. Also be aware of the the airport taxi scam. I paid 300 000 local currency and it should be no more then around 100000. But that has no reflection on QV home. Have fun and choosing QV how, you will be pleasently surprised.
Thank you so much. See you again in Vietnam

Verified reviewIt was very clean, the aircon worked perfectly and there was also a standing fan. Great value for money! The staff and security guard were very kind and helpful.
The pillows were quite high and firm, which I personally don't like. The location was a little hard to find, as when you put the address into GPS, it shows in front of a tiny eatery about 5 meters down the road instead of in front of a blue gate with a security guard window attached to one side. There's also no sign for the QV home on the roadside, so I had to ask the security guard if this was the right location.
QV Home thank you so much !

Verified reviewMy stay at QV home was for only one night upon my return to HCM to fly home . This created my best experience of HCM , it is a very local area I didn’t see one tourist when I ventured out and the locals were so friendly and curious. Everything you needed was in walking distance of the property. The room it’s self was very clean and comfortable ! The owner and his sister were absolutely lovely and accommodating , they helped me out so much and even gave me a lift to the airport and walked with me inside - with so much kindness and care ! Wish I had more time to stay and explore this side Of HCM!
I forgot to lock my room door and someone entered whilst I was asleep .

Verified reviewHow lucky I was to find this place! Everything is as in the photos and better in person. Maintained, new, clean, it has everything you need, but most importantly, incredible hosts. It's close to the airport, you can hear a plane here and there but the noise level is negligible, not an issue whatsoever. It is in a gated community with security, perfectly safe, there is a beautiful little park in the middle with huge trees, and you hear only birds when you wake up. No noise from the streets, it's amazing. I'm loving it so much, I'm staying longer, I don't want to leave. Welcoming, homey, relaxed, family atmosphere from the first moment.
Nothing here not to like

Verified reviewNice, clean, quiet place in a local area with tons of cheap food options around. This is a much more true and local experience in HCMC. A lot of police live in the area.
There is a security guard to enter the neighborhood and he doesn’t like people coming back late even though it is not against the rules or anything. He is gonna give you some attitude and nasty words.
