How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Staff were helpful but not welcoming. I stayed here for a few days and saw them whenever I went in and out and never got even a smile. It was obvious that they didn't care for my experience. I got the private room, which was priced like other private rooms in the area. Except this one was significantly worse than my other stays. There was a half full cup of coke in the cupboard. A roll of toilet paper and a plastic spoon next to the fridge. It appeared hastily cleaned. They were kind enough to let me check in early, which was nice of them. But when I got there the bathroom floor was soaking wet, presumably from the previous guests shower or from cleaning. I get that bathroom floors get wet when the shower is used, but if they cared they would make sure it's dry for the next person. Also there was no light in the bathroom. I usually don't judge too harshly in reviews. I get that sometimes facilities aren't perfect and I get what I pay for. All I ask is that the person running the place cares. At least enough to double check the room.

The owner and staff were rude. The owner was money minded and didn't accept the request to keep luggage in the lobby even for a minute after checkout. The staff was extremely rude and yelled at me when I requested help to bring my trolley from the third floor to the ground floor. The dormitory bathroom was not clean enough.

Verified reviewThe locality is very good. Walkable to the city centre attractions. The private double room and its bathroom was spacious and clean as shown in the pictures. I got a nice sleep. There was not much noise in the night. I was planning to give it a higher rating because of the room and location, however due to the staff behaviour I have to reduce the rating.
The owner and staff were rude. The owner didn't accept the request to keep luggage even in the lobby not even for a minute after checkout time. The staff shouted at me when I asked their help to bring my trolley from the third floor to reception. Then he was ramming my trolley harshly through the stairs and was yelling. The dormitory toilet was not clean.
First of all, we would like to thank you for your review and suggestions to help our hotel become better. Regarding the rude staff attitude and not allowing you to keep your luggage "not even a minute after check-out time", we would like to clarify the issue as follows: First, you told us about the late check-out issue, initially we also told you that the room would be occupied so we could not assist you. Then you did not say anything about sending your luggage, only told us that you would check out at that time and would come back to get your luggage at 12 noon. We did not say anything and only reminded you to come back early because after 2pm we will start charging and you did not respond to this issue. Next, let's talk about the rude staff and their inappropriate actions when throwing your luggage from above. We would like to remind you to give honest feedback because after checking the CCTV, our staff did not have any rude actions towards you and your luggage as you described. However, we will still work with our staff. We also hope that next time if you want to give feedback, please give honest feedback because we have recorded your words through the messages you sent us and your attitude when working with our staff in real life does not match your attitude when working with us through messages. Verified reviewStaff at the reception were fantastic and incredibly helpful. Check-in was easy. The hotel itself is ideally located, just a short walk from the walking street. The property was clean, the rooms were spacious, and the beds were large and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was strong.
Bathrooms could be cleaner, hot water made available and water pressure improved on the 4th floor.
