Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The rooms at Shark Homestay were really clean and comfortable and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The Homestay is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the main food and drink area which becomes pedestrianised in the evenings. The Homestay is set back slightly off the Main Street so it is really quiet and peaceful.

The location is excellent, in the center, full of places nearby to eat and walk. The staff is super friendly and explain everything without problems. They have bus service and motorcycle rental at a good price. The rooms are very comfortable, with air conditioning and private bathroom.

Our room was very noisy as the homestay is next to a large restaurant that stays open late (03:00)

Totally a good choice for backpackers. The hostel located in the centre of city and close to most of the tourist attractions. All the staffs can speak good English. They gave me various informations and they also help me to organize the Easy Rider from Hue to Hoi An with reasonable price. The tour was really nice and I would highly recommend to do it with them. Free breakfast is also a good point.

Located at the center of the city karaoke songs were heard at night. Bunk beds rustle a bit when moving but the rest was ok
Wide lockers and also bathrooms. They provide you a towel that can be changed everyday. Lots of tour offers and friendly stuff. Also large variety of breakfast menu for free.

There's a music Pub / karaoke next door and it runs till midnight so you won't be able to sleep before that time.
The location and the staff, always willing to help you with anything you need.

I had originally reserved a 6-bed dorm, however due to a miscommunication among the staff, I was offered an 8-bed dorm instead. Nevertheless, it turned out to be perfectly fine.
The location is great, near all the amenities and the main street for walking. The room and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. The breakfast was average. Check-in was seamless and the owner was extremely friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable.

For my standards too young and noisy guests, but that doesn’t depend on the hotel of course.
I had to leave earlier due to personal reasons, but during my stay the owner was lovely and made everything to make my stay impeccable, she helped me a lot with travel and food recommendation, trips, even free breakfast was included in a very convenient price for room. I would recommend staying here :)
