How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe love the view.
Breakfast selection was poor. There are a lot of areas around the hotel rooms and lobby that requires touch up work and maintenance. Looks tired and worn. Hotel windows are dirty requires cleaning. The hotel interior design theme was confusing too. Our booking stated 20% disc for food and drinks. But front desk said no such promotion even though we showed what the booking has included.

Verified reviewThe Code is located close to the Son Tra Peninsula, where it’s peaceful and less touristy compared to My Khe Beach. Here, you can watch local fishermen set their nets and haul in their catch on the beach several times a day. On the other hand, it’s a bit further to drive to the restaurants in central Da Nang, but Grab is easy and inexpensive to use. The hotel maintains a good standard and features a coffee machine where you can select your favorite coffee for breakfast. Please note that the breakfast buffet is cleared exactly at 10:00 AM
We stayed at The Code several times during our visit to Da Nang and tried different room types. At one point, we had a 60 m² apartment on the top floor with a balcony facing the sea. We expected a beautiful sea view, but instead, there’s a tall "wall" made of rusty iron covering the entire façade facing the ocean, positioned at such a height that you have no view at all, except for small holes you can peek through from the balcony. It might be called modern architecture, but we found it very poorly designed and quite disappointing. The rooms with partial sea view have small triangular balconies with glass railings and offer a much better view. If no view is mentioned in the room description, it usually means the room faces directly into a wall and tends to be quite dark. The hotel is a bit pricey but offers generally good quality. We asked for cheese at breakfast but were told they had chosen to offer butter instead 🤣. So we bought our own cheese and brought it to breakfast 😂. We also tried a lunch dish at the hotel restaurant upon arrival, but it was expensive and rather disappointing compared to what you usually get served in Da Nang.

Verified reviewHorrible value. Management and staff fail to manage the hotel. Won't allow 1 hour late check-out. Lack of capability to organize a basic hospitality standard? Cleaning staff entered room without notice... privacy invasion. The hotel room smelled like urine. Was not clean. Mold on walls. Cockroaches everywhere. View was facing another building. 1 million for what? Felt scammed. No resolutions.

The bar service was not great, had to wait long service. Far to walk to all the nice beaches and restaurants.

Verified reviewThe rooftop pool has gorgeous views of the beach and Da Nang. There was a good spread for breakfast and it was a short taxi into the centre. Food from nearby restaurants was fresh and the staff were welcoming.

Some of the decor a little oppressive in places but still very modern

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and pool was lovely.
Was a bit further from the city centre than expected. The staff seemed a little lost everytime I asked a simple question and I felt like I was being annoying. There was no info in my room about what floors everything was on, there were times on my card but not where the facilities were. Breakfast was very much local foods which westerners may find hard to enjoy for breakfast eg. Noodles and pho and sausages labeled as bacon.

Verified reviewCloseness to the beach - right across the road. Location was good too. Not the center, but rather quiet area which we enjoyed. Receptionist and bell boy were top and helped to get food delivered to our times on multiple occasions.
Cleanliness was on the very bad level, especially for next to the sea hotel. In such cases, room needs to be proactively cleaned at least once per day. In some hotels even twice. Here roomkeepers were visiting our room only at ~3PM, when all places around are closed and you have no choice but to stay in the room. Don't want to stay if that was on purpose, but I find it worrisome that room is only attended closer to evening. Checking twice per day is a must and in both morning and evening. Our room was cleaned 1x in 4 days, and when done only part of the towels were replaced. Rooms look better on the pictures, but in reality they need good refurbishment, especially shower room.

Verified reviewThe breakfast quality was also highly commendable. The breakfast buffet offered a diverse selection of Asian, European, and local dishes that were deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. I was especially delighted to find a fresh mango smoothie on the breakfast menu, one of my favorite drinks.

No money exchange and grocery shop nearby, the breakfast buffet was quite limited to only few options. Free water bottles was very tiny
