Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe did not mind, as it was very hot during our stay but we did not have hot water to shower with. No complaint but a suggestion: the old quarter is overwhelming in terms of offer of street-food, restaurants, spa’s etc. A list of recommendations- and the option to book for you- would elevate the experience.
We loved our stay at the Zenith. It was the perfect starting point to explore Hanoi, quiet, private, comfortable but so close to all the action the old quarter has to offer. I especially appreciated the excellent gym and the washing room, made the place feel like a home away from home. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend.

United StatesAs a frequent traveler, I always rely on reviews, and I know how tricky it can be to gauge authenticity, especially with so many places described as "luxury" accommodations. Please know that this review is based solely on my personal experience; I wasn’t offered any incentive or discount to write it. I originally booked for two weeks but ended up extending for an extra week — always a good sign! First, the location is ideal. It’s just a short walk from the Old Quarter, which makes it incredibly convenient without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The Zenith offers the best of both worlds: proximity to Hanoi’s vibrant center with the benefit of peaceful, quiet nights. Having a large government building across the street also added an extra sense of security when walking around, even late in the evening. Now, onto the amenities: the room was well-equipped, including a kitchenette (although I admit I was too busy exploring Hanoi’s amazing food scene to use it), a Smart TV, a very comfortable bed and couch, and excellent lighting. The shower had good water pressure and consistent temperature — while extended hot showers can be a bit of a challenge due to the local water heating systems, I still managed to enjoy a solid 15-minute hot shower each time, which was more than enough, especially in Hanoi’s warm summer weather. The property is thoughtfully designed, consisting of two buildings connected by a charming garden. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job—my room was always fresh, and towels were replaced daily. As a long-term traveler, I often prioritize convenience over extras, so instead of opting for a place with breakfast, I chose this one because it offers access to a washer and dryer. I’d also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the staff. They were consistently kind, attentive, and professional, always going out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. Their warmth truly made my stay memorable.

Estoniadespite location looks close to points of interest, there are not much amenities around it, e.g. restaurants, cafes, shops or ATMs (you will need those in Vietnam). Grab delivers there, but in general it is not that lively around. NOT critical issue and is not directly related to the hotel :)
The staff is helpful and friendly It is quite close to train street, so you can easily go there very early in the morning The amenities were good, and the washer and dryer machines were available for free use. The room was fresh and clean.

The location was brilliant, really close to everything but on a quiet street. Staff were brilliant and so helpful. I haven’t got a bad thing to say about the place. Highly recommend this place if you are wanting to explore the old quarters of Hanoi. Nicest place we stayed in Vietnam.

CanadaThis is a great place to stay. Quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. We had a one bedroom suite that was very large. The free laundry facilities were just around the corner. The location was also really good. Close to plenty of sites, but on a quieter street.

South AfricaRoom was long and narrow, with not much natural light, Hanoi was over cast which didn’t help. I spend half my life at work sleeping in containers, so this just reminded me.
Location was good short walk to old town and many restaurants and quiet street with no noise. Good value for money and helpful staff.
