Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamI came across Truc Home by chance on Booking, and it was love at first sight. True to my first impression, the host arranged for me to stay in a balcony room filled with sunlight. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, spotless, and the room was spacious and fully equipped. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Da Nang city. I had a truly comfortable 4 days and 3 nights here. Without a doubt, I’ll return to Truc Home on my next trip to Da Nang.

New ZealandMy only suggestion would be to have someone more permanently there for check ins and check out.
Very spacious, big bathroom, friendly staff who were very accommodating. We kept our bags there for the day and the staff who were there went above and beyond to help us with our bags in the pouring rain.

BrazilAs mentioned, maybe the location is a downside. It’s a great place but far from what you would want to see in town. Not many restaurant options around either… also, some people mentioned the communication through any app translator should help the language barrier. In my opinion, it was not great. The young man that works at this home knows nothing in English and makes it very difficult to ask questions. Lastly, it says on their page that they accept card as form of payment. According to the young man, only cash is accepted (come prepared with extra cash).
It is a nice property, very spacious rooms. The facilities were great, the WiFi worked perfectly. Good water pressure and heater (even though you don’t really need too much hot water in Vietnam). I would def recommend this place to families but not as much to solo travelers like myself (it’s relatively quiet - some honking from the street can be heard but nothing too bad - but a bit away from the main sights in town). There’s a market nearby (Win) where you can get all the essentials. Very easy to find, didn’t have issues with ‘Grab’ at all.

RussiaExcellent location in an area where tourists have not yet reached. There are many local establishments nearby. You can walk, but it's better to rent a scooter. We were offered two rooms to choose from: one with windows facing the street and the other facing the courtyard. We chose a room with windows facing the street - it's noisier here, but it's bright. The hotel is located on a busy street, so you can hear the cries of "ban mi" and children singing songs at school. The hotel itself is very pleasant, very clean and with wonderful staff. A huge TV and a big bed. All plumbing is new, and there is no mold anywhere.

PortugalOur stay at this apartment was absolutely fantastic! It was much larger than we expected and beautifully renovated, making it a super comfy spot to relax. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, even without speaking English—Google Translate worked like a charm! The apartment had all the essentials, and we really felt at home. If you want a cozy, well-maintained place with warm hospitality, this is a perfect choice. Highly recommend!

It’s the best hotel I stayed in Da Nang: clean, cosy, quiet, very new and everything working, great shower and very comfortable bed. It’s a very small property do book in avance. I extended my stay 3 times. The family running it is very sweet and accommodating, they kindly let a late check out, They speak good English!

New ZealandHost didn’t speak any english and didn’t engage Bathroom was odd: shower drain in the gar corner which meant entire bathroom grope stayed flooded and the weirdest thing was bathroom faced hallway and had no window, only a blind. We felt we had no privacy as hallway was quite echoey
Upon arrival we were given a choice of rooms. A dark room away from the busy large intersection, or lots of natural light but facing the road. The room was very clean and spacious. The entire guesthouse seemed to have been either quite new or renovated

United KingdomI would argue that this property is more a hotel than a homestay. Although the welcome we received was not in any way negative, it was a very neutral experience. At every other homestay we've experienced prior to this, we'd received a very warm welcome including complimentary drinks and tourist information; in the morning I simply asked for a breakfast recommendation (via Google Translate) and the response was of no help. Additionally, there didn't appear to be any food options, something I'd particularly come to expect from a homestay experience. Be aware that the staff don't speak any English, which of course can never be expected but be prepared to communicate exclusively via Google Translate.
Incredibly clean property with heavenly pillows and a comfy duvet. The bathroom was also lovely, with perhaps the most reliable hot water we've seen in our time in Vietnam. The room was comfortable and had a very up-to-date TV, allowing us to AirPlay and watch Netflix on an evening where we didn't feel like venturing out.

United StatesThe location is very central. Restaurants and convenience stores are next door. Close to the airport, too. It's convenient that after landing, I could get to the place right away and was able to pick up food next door and get rest instantly. The bed is kingside, clean, smells nice, and is very comfortable. I had a great view of the city and the garden below. The room also has a patio with a nice table setting outside for you to sit outside if you like enjoying the breeze. There lots of green bamboos outside on the patio give you privacy and shade. Keyless entry. Fast wifi. Offer an elevator which makes it easy for luggage carrying. The place is spacious, very clean, and elegant design. I like that Truc Home has Netflix and other channels. Their TV is huge. Mr. Viet and Ms. Thoa are the best hosts. They are very welcoming and accommodating. If you ask for advice on where to go for local places or coffee shops, they would love to show you around and even take you for a free ride to the place. Ms. Thoa help drove me to the spa that she likes. The spa is also close to the Truc home. I got the best massage ever at a very cheap price. There is a fitness nearby if you choose to stay longer and still want to keep up with your routine. Very convenient place to stay. Hosts have rental motorbikes, just ask for it. I would definitely come back. Truc Home is truly a germ in Danang City.

AustraliaThe young man who was looking after the place does not speak English, so we had to use the translator continuously. While it's not exactly a train smash, and I guess you have to expect it in a foreign country, it does become a little tiresome after a while.
There was no breakfast option for this accommodation. The room was large and had a small balcony overlooking the garden below. The bed was typically firm for Vietnam, which is fine by me. There were lots and lots of places to eat around the place, so you will never go hungry.
