How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBuffet breakfast is included in the room charge. A wide variety of food is provided including Western, Chinese and Vietnamese. The location is excellent especially for first time visitors to HCMC. The bus terminal is nearby and there is a local bus stop just 20 m from the hotel. Airport buses and intercity coaches also stop outside the hotel. The hotel is behind the Bui Vien Walking Street.
Cigarette smoke got into my room through the bathroom exhaust vent despite that I had been promised a non-smoking room. The staff was very helpful and upgraded my room the next morning to an executive room which is much bigger with city and park views.

Verified reviewThere was no notice in the room or any advice from the reception that water bottles and spirit are not complimentary As u can see in the booking, we had 2 kids with us and they got access to spirit and bottle they drank it as it's too hot There was not even single complimentary water... We checked in late 1158pm bec our flight got delayed ...all of us were frustrated tired and drank it I would request the hotel to make a note to notify customers As a one-off, could I please request for a reimbursement of this extra cost I have attached invoice copy
Dear guests The true is there were complimentary daily 03 bottles of drinking water on the table (with tea & coffee set, boiler) in your triple room. And there is always a directory book on the table of all rooms stating that water and soft drinks in the minibar are chargeable. There is no alcohol (spirit nor beer) in all rooms at Vien Dong Hotel. Beside that, we have hot and cold water purifiers at the lobby and the restaurant where all guests can refill the drinking water to their bottles at any time free of charge. So in your case, we find that the cost for your bill of water and soft drinks in the minibar is reasonable and reject for reimbursement. Verified reviewStayed at Vien Dong Hotel and really enjoyed its location! It’s almost right in the center of everything—super convenient for exploring Ho Chi Minh City. I could easily walk to Bùi Viện Street for nightlife and Ben Thanh Market for shopping and local eats. Whether you're into sightseeing or just soaking up the city vibe, this hotel puts you close to it all. Great spot for travelers who love being in the heart of the action without needing a ride every time.
While the location of Vien Dong Hotel is excellent, there were a few things that didn’t quite meet expectations. The room felt a bit rundown—especially the bathroom fixtures, where the chrome on the taps and shower head was peeling off, which gave a worn-out impression. Another issue was noise in the early morning. Around 6am, I could clearly hear people walking in the corridor and even from the room above, which made it hard to sleep in. As for breakfast, there was a decent variety of options, but unfortunately, the taste was just average—nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its prime location, but the facilities and soundproofing could definitely use an upgrade.

Verified reviewCentrally located, right in front of the park! Big room, super comfortable bed. Breakfast is really delicious (it's actually like lunch)! The hotel is clean and cozy, I enjoyed staying there!
I personally asked for a room with a balcony, which faces the park and the street. It's a busy street! So I don't mind sleeping with earplugs... Maybe the noise from outside will bother others. But the view from there is beautiful!

Verified reviewQuiet hotel in District 1 with Close proximity to everything you’d need. 7/11, massages, pubs/bars, MacDonald, hungry Jacks: Coffee shop down stairs. Great indoor, semi air conditioned market with better quality items than Ben Thanh markets just 5min walk. Night life 1 street back with live music.
Rooms were big but very outdated, needs a refresh! Small bathroom, with bath/shower. Breakfast was disappointing, chose not to eat there again.
