Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaEden on the River is generally a place which many go to on day trips. Staying there and having full access to the river was amazing with virtually no one around in the morning or afternoons (Before/after the day trippers). The river is gorgeous and excellent for swimming and exploring with the kids. The home is spacious with lovely living area looking over the lush green gardens, all the way to the sea in the distance. The home is only rated 3 stars so don't expect luxury, but it is a great wholesome home to relax and unwind. The resident dogs (Snowflake, Rosa & Whinny) will make you feel at home and are super friendly. It is located out of town so best to take supplies with you to cook for dinner etc. The onsite café is open from 9 to 4, but there is no real dinner option nearby.

AustraliaA few mossies but mosquito nets and mosquito zappers help as well mosquito repellent and mossie coils.
The house is large, comfortable beds, great kitchen and laundry. Beautiful location with river access to go swimming surrounded by lush rainforest. Can walk around and see the sheep and pigs with their cute piglets. Playground and bbq facilities. Cafe can provide food and bbq packs to purchase. Lovely staff. Great toasted sandwiches in cafe. Friendly dogs to walk with you to swim in river.

AustraliaFelt like we were an inconvenience for asking to do our complementary activities. Super limited menu if you have dietary issues so make sure to bring your own food. Snake in the bathroom. No cold water. LOTS of mosquito's but they have repellent
Staff are nice enough, comfortable sleep, kitchen is good to cook your own things which we had to do as they had no gluten free options for my coeliac partner. Outdoor shower was nice (still no hot water) despite seeing a snake behind our mirror at one point. Tonnes of dogs and a cat were very pleasant. The dogs love the house so they stayed and chilled with us at the house for some time. It's very far from anything else in port vila however the location next to the river is awesome and so beautiful.

New ZealandWas a little more rustic than what I thought from the booking.com page. But I was also comfortable with that. Bedding a little damp. But wet season and most (not all) accom I stayed at was like this.
Chilled out vibe in the middle of nature. Good people and cool spot. People went out of the way to help.

New ZealandDogs, lots of them . Dogs barking all night until owner who was off shore got message and got sorted. Accom is pretty basic. (2 x containers) ..no comfy place to sit... no outlook.. no bedside table BUT an affordable spot on the Blue Lagoon side of Port Vila,
There were no keys provided, no way to lock your room.

AustraliaThe lack of communication. We asked for days about how the payment would be processed as we didn’t want to pay card as we knew there would be a massive international fee. They never answered. The booking page stated cash was ok. We withdrew cash on purpose to pay the accommodation and they decided to charge our card. We lost 80 Australian dollars in fee plus lost another 20 Australian dollars while changing back at the airport the money we had taken out to pay the house in cash. This is not ok. And they weren’t apologetic at all.
It’s an amazing property, and the house is gorgeous.

AustraliaThe photos misrepresent the unit we had booked. The accom is in a shipping container with just a couple of pedestal fans. We heard that the larger accommodation is a big improvement
The river is amazing and the staff are very kind. We couldn’t stay due to the shipping container accom feeling like a sauna, no screens to keep out mosquitoes and wasps, no lockable door, etc, and the owners kindly refunded and organised paid transport to another accommodation

AustraliaWe had a lovely stay at Eden on the River. We stayed 2 nights and could definitely have stayed longer. The cooking experience was great and my older kids loved trying some authentic Vanuatu food. Lovely friendly staff, beautiful gardens and river. River tubes and rope swing was very fun. My kids loved the friendly dogs. Beautiful bowl of fresh fruit to enjoy in the accomodation. Mosquito nets over beds worked well. Loved exploring the river - gorgeous setting
