Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaFood was ok but they had major shortages so most menu options were not available - they were out of eggs, fish, wraps and steak. There was a bar fridge in room but no cooking facilities. Would have been great if there had been a microwave just to enable some self-catering. Wifi was very slow and only available in limited communal areas. Communal areas were definitely in need of some TLC. they advertised that there was a free glass bottomed boat tour available for overnight guests but apparently it is not currently working (not sure how long this has been the case).
The snorkelling straight off the beach was amazing. We had read the very mixed reviews about this and have worked out why they vary so much - you need to go during low tide and then go further out. The first section the coral is dead but still plenty of fish. If you continue further out you get to another section of live coral and more fish - this is easier to get to at low tide - at high tide it is deep under water and not as easy to see and enjoy. We suspect that the negative reviews are people who went snorkelling at high tide and didn't got out that deep and positive reviews are people who went out at low-mid tide and went further out. underwater post office it pretty pathetic but the general snorkelling was good. My 13yo daughter loved the free loan kayaks too. The bungalow was lovely and airy with great views. the staff were helpful getting our bags to our room and water taxi was simple to use. Great place to relax and watch the ocean - either in the ocean with all the equipment provided or simply on a chair.

AustraliaUnfortunately, no kitchen amenities, not in the rooms or available for guests. Restaurant in the island is overpriced. Staff was not helpful in telling us where to go to find food near the island, we had to find it for ourselves. Same with buses, we figured out how to catch a bus for $150 vatu even though the staff advised us it would be a lot more. Airport shuttle they booked for us never showed up. Not really a marine sanctuary to be honest either. Paddle boarding was advertised but it was broken when we got there. Overall, very poor but everyone was very friendly and it was an amazing stay for relaxing after we sorted out food!
Nice bungalows and friendly staff overall. The island is lovely for kids snorkelling and kayaking.

AustraliaThe fact that the toilet and showers were separate from the rooms, the noisy fridge and no air conditioning. Hotel feels a bit run down and can benefit from an update or a makeover.
The location of the resort, the fact that you’re in a marine sanctuary with 24 hour boat service to the mainland, the very friendly staff

AustraliaThe room was a little hot box and mosquitoes were very aggressive. A pedestal fan was not enough for the humidity. The sheets were scratchy. The view from our room was marred by a rusty filing cabinet, old cans of paint and a rusted out chest freezer dumped directly in front of the accommodation. This resort needs some love!
The staff were lovely and the bar and restaurant were reasonable priced. The snorkelling off the beach was fantastic.

Australiait’s just looking a little tired maybe a little basic maintenance but it’s not to bad
A great location to just relax snorkel swim. Staff are fantastic. I have been here a couple of times in the last 15 years. And it’s looking a little tired but the staff and location definitely over look this. Our bungalow was clean and can be serviced every day if you like. It’s fabulous for a week long break will return again

AustraliaShame the owners don't fix up the resort. Such a lovely island that could be so much better.
We spent our 20th wedding anniversary here as this is where we had our honeymoon. The location is great. Stella & the staff at Hideaway are so friendly & very helpful. The restaurant has lovely food. The snorkelling was great, unfortunately the coral reef isn't as good as it used to be. But if you head out a bit, it's fantastic. Our room was very clean & comfortable. The resort definitely needs a revamp, apparently the sale to the new owners hasn't done it any favours. No idea what they are doing with the walls they building at waters edge, & the pool? Definitely need the stairs back with the railing to enter & exit the water. I would definitely go back. Would be great too for day trips!

AustraliaBreakfast is not included and not really worth paying extra for. An unnecessary additional cost for cereal and bread. This is a management thing though, staff made up for this with their smiling faces and warm welcomes. Rooms don’t have aircon which is fine if you can handle the heat
The location is amazing and staff were so accomodating and friendly, I could not fault them. The reef is beautiful and hiring gear is so easy. We also went scuba diving with Dell and he was amazing. All staff were. Room was great for the price we paid and having a private beach entrance and small garden was a treat! Felt like your typical island living

AustraliaShared shower block needs a deep clean. There is no table for the kettle which has a short cord. It needed to sit on top of an upside down basket on the floor.

New ZealandThe ferry to the mainland runs very frequently but expect to wait for a bit at times. The diving prices were roughly 50% higher than stated on the website, I decided not to go diving and went for snorkelling instead. Be prepared for a 3% surcharge if you pay by card. Most of the beach is coral - not sand.
Great location for a relaxing holiday. Short bus ride to the city. However, don't pay too much for the public buses. A ride should not cost more than 150 to 200 VT to the city. Hot showers are available. Lots of activities are offered or can be arranged. Great for snorkelling (compared to Tanna though most corals of the house reef were dead, which made it easy to see the plenty and colourful fish).
