Far away from the city. Not many buses passes through the road also.

The sound of the ocean was relaxing. The water was just a few steps away. The villa was basic accommodation ,yet I love how spacious it was. Alex and Edmond were lovely ,and were very helpful. Hot water was strong, internet was fast, bed was comfortable. They're also very affordable. Highly recommended.

Alex’s property is just stunning. The views from the front bungalow are absolutely beautiful. Falling asleep and waking to the sounds of the waves crashing nearby is bliss. The privacy and solitude are something you don’t get to experience much in life. The swimming spot, the beach nearby and all the greenery are just sublime. Alex is great on the communication and a great guy. Edmund looking after the property is an absolute gent, lovely guy always greeting you with a smile. Couldn’t speak more highly of my stay at Vila Del Mare, it’s probably one of the best stays you can find in Vanuatu.

The 3kms or so of dirt road is pretty hectic. It was more a case of spot the road amongst the potholes. I am not exagerating. So much so that we really thought twice about whether we wanted to go out or not. Prior to going there the first time make sure you get your groceries in Port Vila on the way as you will NOT want to head straight back out. There were two dogs that were fighting and ran at my daughter which scared her but 'Sashimi' is a very friendly dog. The little beach area is not a swimming beach and is more like a little alcove but is pleasant enough. We had stayed somewhere else prior to going to this place but we saw the pick up price was $50 per person. I think that is pretty expensive as you can get a local bus with ease at the front of the airport for around $10 per person. There is no need to pre book a pick up as they were also very expensive, about $25-$30 per person. I was also surprised that it cost $15 AUD extra per day to use the air conditioner. We didn't need to use it as the weather was only mid 20's.

I really needed a place overlooking the water and quiet. Vila One was exactly that. As it was the closest to the property, we did not see any of the other guests. It was very quiet and beautiful. The Vilas are spaced well apart and have a lovely aesthetic. As we were staying 8 days, I appreciated having a washing machine available (at no charge and including the laundry powder). The Vila was spacious and plenty of room for me and my teenage daughter. A full size fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and utensils meant we could have easily prepared meals if we wanted to. Good water pressure in the shower. It was nice to have beach towels as well as bathtowels. We had a couple of minor issues but after a quick text to Alex it was resolved without issue. The Resort Island Magic is about 500 metres up the road and serves dinner. I am pretty sure they have live music on some nights. There is usually a good crowd of local expats and visitors there. There is an awesome pub/bar about five kms up the road that has a fire dance on a friday and sometimes saturday night. The food there was really good and it's the location where you can catch the ferry to hideaway island. By quad bike, it took us about 20-25 minutes cruising from Port Vila. The turn off is just at the large delapidated 5 or 6 story building so you can't miss it. Also, when booking day trips that include pick up, they all pick up from Island Magic Resort. Tanna Coffee cafe is less than 3kms away (on the dirt road heading back towards Port Vila) and became our daily habit, stopping in for a lovely coffee. IF we were going to go back to Vanuatu, we would probably stay there again as we both felt it gave us a better opportunity to see something outside of Port Vila that you might miss if you just got stuck in town. In terms of value for money, we were happy with the price.

The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable. May need a new mattress. Also legs got bitten a lot while sleeping, but a few bugs are expected given the location.

The location was beautiful. Was a little secluded, but that was part of it's charm, and the owners were helpful if needed a trip to get groceries, or if anything else was needed. Villas were spacious and clean. Wifi was excellent. And the view was wonderful. Overall a positive stay!

Great location with easy access to local coral reef, exceptional hospitality. The accommodation was fantastic, with a comfortable and well equipped bungalow. Definitely highly recommended and will return there ourselves.

Beautiful villa by the seafront, in a very quiet neighbourhood, it's a real paradise! We wish we had stayed there longer. And a special mention for Alex, the host. He's a wonderful person, very kind and helpful. He even dropped us at the airport when we left.

I can't recommend Vila Del Mar villas and host Alex more highly. It's location, amenities, and comfort is ideal for travellers who cherish their independence and seek authentic experiences. Having spent a week on Efate, Vila Del Mar is in a goldilocks zone with a beachfront access, which was a bonus as the weather and prevailing winds during my stay produced poor conditions for snorkelling and swimming at popular beaches on the east side of the island. I also would have found accommodation farther afield from Port Vila onerous and time-consuming pretty quickly given the state of the roads. The island's coffee roastery and best cafe is just down the road, and local villages, the halcyon Beach Bar, and Mele Island (Hideaway Island) are a short distance away. Alex is incredibly generous with his time and guidance, so get in touch with him before or during your stay if you need any help or advice.

Beautiful beach bungalow in quiet area. Loved our stay including the resident dogs who stole our hearts and kept us entertained! Very accommodating and loving staff who went through a lot of effort to look after us. The beach is right outside the door, and there’s snorkel gear ready to use anytime. Can’t wait to come back!"

The house is great! If you’re looking for relaxation and a chance to disconnect, this is exactly what you need, as it’s a bit secluded. Plus, there’s a small private beach on the property—it’s truly amazing! “Just make sure to bring some mosquito repellent.” Very clean! I thank Alex for his kindness and thoughtfulness, as he has always been there to suggest outings and help me discover different things on the island. He’s not just someone who rents you a place and then disappears—no, he makes sure everything is going well on your side.

It is a very calm place, right by the ocean with a very friendly atmosphere. In absence of Alex, Ray and his wife was the most caring host and they made stay even more pleasant and comfortable. The small beach is just a cherry on the top for a wake up swim in the morning.

I opened the curtains after a good night's sleep, natural light streamed into the room .and I said "Oh look ! There's Paradise out the window" With only 5 villas scattered among the tranquility of the rainforest you will feel truly centered and relaxed in your own private oasis. 🌴 Take away all of life's distractions and without a care in the world, a gentle sea breeze and the cutest little beach you've found the perfect location at Vila Del Mare for peace and quiet. You can be away from the busy noise of the Port and still within reach of the many venues and cafes of this relaxing and safe, close community. If you do need to get in touch with the outside world or have an important project to finish the Wi Fi is completely reliable, unlike many places I've previously stayed at 😮 Car hire would be ideal or (if you dare) local buses are also at your doorstep. You can stock up and make your own meals or eat out at local Restaurants and Bars, (Light show and Fire show at the Beach Bar) Enjoy outstanding snorkeling locations or spend your day at the beautiful Cascade Falls or The Summit Gardens, Jungle Zipline, Golf course, famous Tanna Coffee cafe' or the fresh veggie market stall. Simply ask Alex he knows all the best places and is an excellent host.

Shower pressure and temperature wasn’t great and a few water leaks. But as soon as these were reported to a staff member they were onto it immediately to resolve the issue.

Fantastic location a little way out of town - away from the hustle and bustle, and very nice villa on the beach front with private access to the beach. The hosts were all so friendly, kind, welcoming and always willing to offer help, travel advice and to make our stay the best experience as possible! Excellent value for money!

The "beach" is not that a beach but you still can go swimming, dogs always made some noise during nights and the weather was not very nice (but it's nobody's fault !)

Alex was a perfect host and even if some little things wasn't perfect, Alex was always here to help, give advices and share time ; moreover, he came pick me up at the airport and drove me back which was very confortable. The spot was quite calm and chilly, perfect to rest, cook or read.
