Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandWe liked everything. This was the highlight of our trip- the only thing that would be good is a sign so we knew where it was.
Delicious home cooked breakfast and dinner- so much variety and authentic Samoan food. Fantastic koko drink roasted the previous day. Loved meeting the family and seeing them work together as a team.was lovely to wake up to the beautiful beach- great snorkeling with variety of fish.

These fales are the perfect accomodation when staying in Samoa. Right on the beach you get to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves, and view the stunning sunrises and sunsets. Mosquito nets in the fale ensure the bugs leave you alone while sleeping and being able to roll the outside tarps up or down ensured that you can have the right amount of ocean breeze for you. The family who run these fales are lovely and really make you feel at home. The breakfasts and dinners are made fresh and everything was incredibly delicious. There was always a feast so you never went hungry.

SingaporeBesides eating and snorkeling, there isn’t much things to do at the area unless one has a car. Nevertheless it is good to spend a few days doing nothing much while staring at the sea.
The host Lini and Lasi are very friendly and helpful. Lini even got up at 5.45am to send me to the nearer bus stop to catch the 6am bus back to Apia, and waited with me to ensure I can get on the bus. The breakfast and dinner are generous and tasted very good. Some seafood dishes especially. The room is cosy and bed is comfortable too.

AustraliaThe service was truly exceptional. The hosts were so welcoming, warm, and made us feel like part of their family. We shared stories, laughed together, and it honestly felt like staying with friends rather than just accommodation. The food was absolutely delicious, and they were always so accommodating, there whenever we needed anything. You can really feel how much they care about their guests. Such a beautiful and wholesome experience.

New ZealandThe children were around and helping out during school hours (bringing out food, keeping the flies away etc). I was a little uncomfortable with this as I think school should be a priority, even though they seemed happy to be helping out. The pillow smelt a bit damp, but it's so warm and humid so I can see how this would be hard to manage.
It felt like an authentic experience! The beach was gorgeous and the snorkling great (if you walk up the beach to the right and get in, the strong current will pull you back across to the left so you barely have to swim). The food was next level - home cooked, generous portions and way better than the hotel we stayed at previously.

The Fales are directly at the beach and you have the feeling you sleep at the beach. Loved that we got mosquito nets :) The family who runs it is amazing ! They helped us with everything. The food the provided to us was so yummy ! They put a lot of time and effort into it and it gave me the feeling of eating at home. All family members are very friendly and you can get to know them very easily :) They love to tell you about Samoa which I totally loved.

New ZealandNothing negative but there is no ATM anywhere on this side of the island so bring cash. Also, there was no sign out the front, but we found it easy enough on google maps.
This is an authentic Samoan Beach Fale experience with a lovely family. Our fale had lights and electricity. The food was amazing. Loved the bbq chicken, oka, fried banana balls and coconut jam. The beach was beautiful.

NetherlandsJust a small remark about the matrasses, they were a little too soft and started to sag over time.
