Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCats roam around at night at sometimes cry at the room door or you can hear them fighting outside your windows. A bit of maintenance needed to bring some life back into the place.

New ZealandEarly wake up when staff arrived in the kitchen next door to us!
Stayed in a Eurofale, which was comfortable for us. Gentle breeze through the sides, ceiling fan and mosquito nets all part of the charm. Ensuite bathroom with natural rock shower as a feature, also a small bar fridge with bottled water. Drinks at the bar by the pool, dinner and a floor show, included breakfast (limited selection but was freshly made). Food was good.

New ZealandOur bathroom had poor water pressure and we didn't have hot water for the first of our 2 nights there. Electric lights also had issues and we had to ask for help a couple of times to get the lights working. Having to go across the road to get patchy wifi wasn't the best either. The venue was in a perfect location but overall it was a little 'tired' and would really benefit from some TLC.
Overall we had a lovely stay here. We stayed in a beachfront fale and it had a "romantic" vibe. The location was just beautiful - the weather certainly helped. Staff were friendly and helpful.

New ZealandRooms in desperate need of work, as are shared facilities like the pool area. Toilet open through to the kitchenette. Gaps in the walls which meant zero soundproofing between halves of the villa and consequently we were kept awake most of the night. Cracks in tiles, stains everywhere, rusted fridge, terrible paint finish, shower was dirty with no water pressure and wildly fluctuating temperatures, nothing felt clean, breakfast a big disappointment after other resorts. Would have been what I expected for half the price, but when you charge high prices you do need to deliver a really good experience which this was not. Very unlikely we would choose to stay here if we returned to the area. I understand buildings can move, and the location is tough on buildings but you could do a lot with good cleaning, replacing curtains, a tube of no more gaps, some painting and a tiler/handyman, perhaps some kind of screen or curtain to improve privacy and hygiene in the open toilet/bathroom/shower/kitchen area. In other resorts we saw staff out cleaning, maintaining, and tidying; here we saw no one out working and it showed. Breakfast was brought out plated with plain toast, two hard boiled eggs and a little fruit per person. Didn’t get butter or spread for the toast, salt/pepper or even a spoon to eat the eggs. Rotten boards around the pool which we didn’t want to swim in due to it looking dirty and having algae growing in it. We are a family travelling with children and were told by email we could have a whole villa but instead got two rooms at the two extreme ends of the block which was awkward for parents sharing a suitcase and being forced into separate rooms some distance apart.
Location is superb right by the water with snorkelling just a few metres from our room. Loved the outdoor shower for rinsing off after swimming. Air conditioning worked well. That’s about it for the good bits though.

New ZealandWe feel like the place needs to be cared for a lot more. They need to do a working bee and fix lots of issues that make the place feel really run down. Things that can be improved: - pool needs a clean- it’s gross - lots of lights not working above the tables - a warning sign for the steps to the ocean- so many people hurt themselves slipping down the steps and there was no warning by staff/ no sign at the top of the stairs - mouldy shower curtains - mouldy ceilings The meals also took ages- we were asked to give a time for when we wanted to eat but it didn’t mean anything because they took forever to come out. It is sad to see a resort with so much potential look and feel run down.
We liked the location and friendly staff. Accessibility to the water was great. Easy to snorkel.

New ZealandThe overall resort is tired and run down, really needs a good clear out of broken rubbish. Building materials are everywhere and broken building parts are strewn all over the place.
Great location for private beach swimming and snorkeling, in a sleepy quiet village with very friendly locals. It was good to have a pool and bar for refreshments, the resort menu is tasty and fresh too. Use of the sea kayaks was really handy too

New ZealandThe place is run down. Not much maintenance is taking place. No wifi, everything we asked to use was either not functioning or broken. The most expensive food we ate the whole trip. 65-80$ per meal. Over all we would stay again just because there are not really better options on the island.

AustraliaAs other reviews said, the resort wasn't maintained for years. Everything is falling apart. An abandoned kitchen in ruins, damaged deck around the pool, tiles missing etc. Very few customers there, it makes the place a little bit creepy.
We booked a night because we needed good mattresses after a stay in a fale. We read the reviews before so we knew what to expect, sadly the other nearby resort was booked out. Maybe we were lucky, our villa (number 6) was in pretty good condition, everything worked fine. Hot water, good aircon, good mattresses and it was clean. The staff was very friendly.
