How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Not too fusy about anything but if you after peace and quiet maybe request a room thats quite far from kitchen or main reception as noise can wake you up. Overall , good.
Very convinient distance from the airport and main road, wharf .Staff was very helpful from airport shuttle to getting our accomodation and food etc. Perfect if you are transiting or on a adventure around Apia. Definitely doing it next time.

The receptionist I didn't like the way she greeted me and was not forthcoming with details when I made enquiries on the restaurant. I could say she is not receptionist material. However, the rest of the front desk staff were excellent.
The shuttle driver was very pleasant and helpful

We enjoyed our way.
It's very good for what it is. Stayed one night as we were catching the 8am ferry to Savai'i the next day, 5 minutes to the wharf & 10 mins to the airport. Staff were friendly and the beds were very comfortable.

Our first room at the back had mouldy smell but the staff were very flexible and moved us to a different room.
The staff were amazing very friendly and always checking if we’re ok.

If you have a clear expectation that this accommodation is short term close to the airport then there are no issues.
The Transit Motel is brilliantly placed to stay close to the international airport for those late night/early morning flights. It is basic accommodation that is clean and the air conditioning works really well. It is a good option for a few hours sleep after arriving or before leaving and is can also provide transport to the airport.

Woken by a neighbour talking loudly close to our unit

As above. The photo depicted on web site was not what was provided. Request the rooms at the back of the property as have a feeling these were the updated rooms. Water pressure in shower was non existent and could see outside from the tap outlet.
Great for late arrivals, early departures, overnight stay, as so close to the airport. Clean room VERY basic facilities, only soap provided. Beverages can be purchased from reception and Instant noodle pots which are very popular in Samoa just no kettle in room to boil water or utensils, cups, basic tea/coffee facilities. Airport transfer was easy to organise and on time, also used to get to Ferry terminal. Staff super friendly and helpful. Communication excellent throughout.

Bathroom had small hole where the outside could be seen through one layer of tiles (no external cladding). No TV, facecloths, kettle nor toaster etc. One table & chair. Wifi from the front office definitely did not reach out room at the back of the long layout, doubt it reached many rooms through the multiple Cinder block walls. A tolerable number of tiny ants in the bathroom.
Cinder block (family unit) room. 2 x dbl & 1 x sgl. Quiet & well functioning a.c and fridge. Noiseless (working) ceiling fan and smoke alarm. Dark curtain. Firm Comfortable bed. Comfortable stay.

No tea or coffee jug or cups or glasses to drink from.
Close to the airport and a staff member took us to the airport before 3 AM at no extra cost! Thank you to that gentleman!

Bed sheets were not clean. It's a bit noisy due to guests coming and going to the airport. But if you need it for just one night is perfect.
Location and free transfer from and to the airport. Room is spacious and comfortable. Also very close to the Sharaton Resort.

Shower drain not working, I had heard about this place having bed bugs and I found it to be true. Spray alcohol or vinegar and vacuum; it should help.
We didn't have breakfast; left the property at 6 a.m.
