From the warm welcome to the thoughtful touches throughout, this guesthouse truly understands hospitality. Vegetarian Breakfasts: As a vegetarian, I was genuinely impressed! Each morning brought a fresh, creatively prepared spread—far beyond the standard fare. Think orange juice, fried egg dishes, mushrooms, tomatoes and hashbrowns, toast, homemade jam and filtered coffee. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in catering thoughtfully to dietary needs. Above & Beyond Service: A special thanks to Gys, whose kindness turned a simple request into an unforgettable gesture. I’d asked only for help drying my laundry—but returned to find every item perfectly ironed and neatly folded* on my bed. This attention to detail and willingness to "go the extra mile" (his words—and he means it!) reflects the soul of this place. The room was immaculate, the garden tranquil, and every interaction with the team felt personal and sincere. If you value genuine care, quiet luxury, and hosts who treat you like family, 79 On Ridge is a must-stay. I’ll be back!

Everything! Denzil and Gys are the best hosts. We had a lovely stroll through their garden, looked at the khoi pond which I highly recommend and if you're a dog lover, their dogs are absolutely adorable. They were at the back though and didn't come into our room at all so anyone with allergies don't need to worry. The beds were perfectly comfortable, there was a gorgeously big bath tub in the bathroom and the decor made it feel like we were living in a Victorian museum while still having a homey feel. The attention to detail is next level. You won't find a better place to stay at in PMB.

We stayed at 79 on Ridge for a research visit at UKZN's PMB campus. The location was ideal - a short drive from campus and with excellent access to local shops and to the N3. The place itself is an oasis - a beautiful garden (with sweet dogs), comfortable and clean rooms, ample parking space and good security. Denzil and Gys are attentive hosts who went out of their way to accommodate our needs, but also did not intrude on our privacy. I'm sure we will be coming back on our next visit!

I did not have breakfast as I left very early bcs I was travelling far. I should have stayed longer. Oh the place was amazing. The warmth upon arrival just assured me I was in the place. The kids loved the place. Pirty our stay was short.

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a function close by. The bed was so comfortable we over slept and almost missed our Saturday am appointment. Will definitely stay again. Can not comment on breakfast as we didn't have any.

Everything about the property is exceptional, from a friendly welcome, very! clean and comfortable. I mean they have a scissor for you to open your coffee and sugar satchels - how thoughtful right?. I would recommend this to anyone.

It was a lovely experience to stay at this accomodation. The host was wery friendly, accommodating and as a special order I received a suppurb breakfast. The whole accomodation is furnished with thougt to details and very attractive and warm. I definitively wish to come back here.

As beautiful as the room was, there were a great deal of ornamental touches. I found it difficult to find space to put things and was worried I was going to break something valuable which would be mortifying. The room we had was accessed from inside the house with no direct external entrance. As irregular B&B users we found this uncomfortable to start with but the hosts were wonderful and not intrusive at all.

Beautifully and lovingly cared for home. Attention to detail was fantastic. Daily room tidy and fresh towels. Tea, coffee, milk and water supplied daily with lovely selection of mugs and tea cups. The bed was wonderful and the linen lovely and fresh and soft.
