The road!!! I cam to do this review just to warn anyone else: you HAVE to rent a SUV if you want to visit the lodge. The road is in an awful state, and the sedan I hired ... let's just say it's a miracle I didn't get fined by the rental company for damage, because it was near impossible not to scratch it. Also, I felt like if was quite disconnected from everything else, so if you weren't going on all day safaris at surrounding farms...I couldn't really see another reason to stay here for more than 2 days.

The staff were lovely and the food was great (and affordable). The facilities in the tent (glamping style) were great. I also took a long walk outside the camp (a bit scary) and saw a herd of giraffes up close.

Everything about this place was perfect, we wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were so friendly, the room and the surroundings are gorgeous, we hope to come back some day!

Beautiful property, comfortable lodgings, fantastic staff and great food. We did the horse riding experience and rode straight up to a herd of giraffes, which was amazing.

In the afternoon the workshop behind our unit&staff accommodation in the mornings/eves were a bit noisier than would've preferred.Perhaps consider moving some furniture inside the unit and perhaps add a little table that can assist as a working surface as the watercontainer was very large and left limited space to put/do anything.Braai dish also only had one side,so we couldn't close the meat (but made a plan.)Communal area is a bit small to just have a drink,sit next to fire and watch a bit of sport after safari,no TV in communal area - but the outside over pool view is lovely&was fine when it was just us.Wine sold by bottle only.Wifi signal dropped during the rugby watching in our room,but I took the wifi-router out from inside the desk&it resolved.

We were on our own,and the staff went out of their way to accommodate an additional child in our unit.He was very impressed as his bed also had the lovely folded towel and decorations.Must've taken them very long to fold all the intricates from the toiletroll,to the towels&displays on the bed.Gorgeous to hear all the birdlife&sound.Unit was clean,ample firewood was provided.Self-catering stove top&microwave was adequate and unit was serviced daily. We could make fire every night and it was lovely to see the animals roam freely between the units.Definitely more aimed at family friendly environment.Aircon was also handy,but not needed as it was warm enough inside. The outside shower was a delight for the 2 "guys" and the inside large shower and bath...a delight for the lady! Ample fresh water was also provided.Braai equipment&even fire starter provided...and ample coffee&tea.TV in room&wifi signal.

The View is amazing , the chalet is so Nice and clean and smell good. The kindness of the people there, the guide also it was a beautiful safari with him. The restaurant is Nice as well. We had just One stay but it was the best of my holiday.

While the dinner was very good, the portions felt a bit small to us. We loved our beautiful chalet, but our neighbors were talking out on their porch all night and we could hear every word. While there is probably nothing that can be done about thin windows and a thatch roof to make them sound proof, maybe it would help if people were given “quiet hours”, and reminded of such when checking in.

The animals and the facilities were beautiful. Delicious food. My husband left a shirt behind, and they kindly couriered it back to us in Pretoria. The staff was very friendly and showed us all around the property.

A lovely lodge, clean and private. Nice to be in the countryside and animals around which can come to the doorstep if lucky. Host are very accommodating to organise your safaris and the restaurant serves delicious food and accommodates for a vegetarian

The WiFi was spotty or not working at all

The property is located inside its own Game Reserve and we even were greeting by their friendly giraffe after checking is. The chalets are very specious and perfects for a family of 4. We also stayed in a luxury tent and it was a delightful experience. My partner called is luxurious Glamping. The breakfast, lunc h and dinner was great and Prince is a fabulous server with a great sense of humor.

Chalet No. 5 has comfy beds. The meals are very good, it is a quiet location. Beautiful interiors. We would definitly stay there again. Prince and Chloe were very nice and helpful, very good service. Thanks for everything.

The facilities and staff were amazing! We booked the 6 hour private game drive to Addo national park for 2 of us with Shane and it was undeniably one of the best experiences of my life. Shane’s passion for wildlife was infectious, he is extremely knowledgeable and went the extra mile. We will always look fondly at our time at the lodge and visiting Charihandra game lodge was a key highlight from our trip to South Africa.

It was a wonderful experience being there. Very quiet and peaceful, a well runned game farm. Breakfast was good, the chalets large and the newly done chalet was the best. Everything was clean, the staff very helpful and the cost of staying there was more affordable than other places closer to Addo. Giraffes, zebras, black impalas and even a sable antilope said goodbye to us on our way out on our last day.

This lodge is wonderful. An initial contact with the establishment was made before our arrival, allowing us to approach our stay calmly and safely. Easy to find, giraffes as soon as we arrived. The location is calm, peaceful and relaxing. The tent is comfortable and has everything you need, and the outdoor shower is a plus. Last but not least, the staff are very kind and helpful. The food is excellent. We loved our stay. Special mention to Mike, the bartender.

The food was great both nights but some people may prefer a couple of options per course.

The people, nothing was too much trouble, they even supplied a birthday cake for free, thanks to everyone especially Hannah, Mike and Prince.

The road out of the property can be quite tricky. We were in a VW Polo and it had rained the night before. We were told by staff it may be tricky to drive out of the road on the route we wanted and they were very helpful. However I would advise if the weather has not been dry then you may want to have a 4x4 car. This is no real reflection on the place more just a bit of advice for anyone visiting as it is more remote than we realised.
