Very hard to complain about such a great place.

I absolutely loved that the beds had heated blankets. Perfect touch for the winter weather. The hotel is also walking distance to the main road which is nice & convenient. I love Critchley Hackle because it gives the warm winter vibes with the fire places & good food.

Fantastic location within easy walking distance to the village. Quiet, comfortable and clean, very well run and relaxing place to be for a weekend. Fireplace very welcome on cold days!

r RESTAURANT A LITTLE HIT AND MISS - WHEN IT WAS GOOD IT WAS GOOD AND WHEN THEY FORGOT ABOUT OUR RESERVATION AND HAD NO TABLE READY AT ALL MMMMMM! BUT IN ALL TRUTH THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD SO PERHAPS THIS WAS A ONCE OFF ???

ROOMS WERE WELL APPOINTED AND COZY. WITH OUR FIREPLACE WE FELT THAT THIS ADDED TO THE " DULLSTROOM FEEL". LOCATION PERFECT COULD JUST WALK INTO TOWN AND WE FELT SAFE - THIS IS OUR SIXTH TIME BACK THAT SAYS IT ALL!

Would have loved the pool open to be used , I swim winter & summer, Can understand that winter there is exceptional.

Location is superb, we had dinner there one night and was not impressed at all, food was not good at all.

Better harder wood for fireplace. It all burnt up within 2 hours but can get hard wood in town.

The Restaurant

The dinner in the Restaurant was delicious the first night. The second night the fish was worse than hard and the lamb curry was no meat just mush. We complained and they still charged us the full price so we never ate there again.

The place is stunning, serene, well maintained Will definitely go back. Restaurants are near to the accommodation, can walk to most of them Receptionist was amazing, very helpful and informative

The shower in our room has a mould growing inside. The fireplace wood tray had been burnt right through the middle .

The management and staff are very obliging. Rooms are good and are reasonably clean and most things were in working order The location is perfect just a few meters away from the town.

We stopped here en route to the airport. What a beautiful and peaceful location. Our room was lovely with a view over the lake. The restaurant is managed separately but was excellent for dinner and breakfast.

Since the restaurant and the hotel are operated separately, breakfast was not included in the price. Additionally, having an open buffet breakfast, at least during peak times, would have been great. Honestly, I didn’t like that there was no open buffet breakfast.

The restaurant and the hotel's operators were not the same, but the restaurant was quite nice and cozy. The food was definitely not bad. The waiters and staff were extremely friendly and cheerful. It’s definitely a great place to escape from the city on the weekends.

Great pool, but it has a net over it so that the ducks do not swim in the pool, which means that neither do you use the pool.

Clean neat and tidy, close to town, and great value for money Also, the restaurant serves meals that I really enjoy! And on Saturday night, we had some light live music, while we ate at the restaurant

Our stay was exceptional. The room was beautiful, clean, and neat with a very cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-in was a breeze, and all need to know info clearly communicated. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. I would definitely recommend Critchley Hackle and will most definitely return for another stay.

We‘d loved to use the pool, but we seemed to be the only ones and it was not cleaned. However we also hit one of the colder days.

Beautiful cottage with fireplace and basic kitchen, very comfy and cozy in a charming garden setting. Nice bathroom. Owner was very friendly and helpful on booking, as the platform would not let us book that cottage for 4 persons although it was made for 4.
