Room seemed a bit damp. Wifi was sometimes temperamental.

Location is good and close to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful and pool was nice and a good size. Parking is secure. Breakfast was good. Decent restaurant nearby.

A few minor things getting slightly tired.

Spacious suite and lounge/dining area with great views of the ocean (whales splashing in the distance). Fantastic food cooked by Abigail. Personal service from the whole team.

Although our stay was very short I believe it was enough to make some telling conclusions. Regrettably, I believe it must be said that this venue may have won luxury awards in the past but is clearly in need of a capital injection by the owners to be able to justify the prices charged presently. Possibility a perfect storm of COVID, Riots and south coast infrastructure issues may have had a tougher effect on business preventing the required upkeep by owners to justify their high end prices in 2023. Yes they achieved many accolades in years past (much of this is advertised) and possibly their prices were justified then but compared to competitors I think they are pricing themselves out of the market for what they offer. The quality of the finishes in the honeymoon suite I believe should be better for a 5 star establishment, touches like the photographic art (faded) decor (dated) etc show up a business still dining out on a reputation made years ago. Supper was fine…but again at R300 p/p one would have expected more. Alchohol was crazy expensive as well.

location is special and exceptional staff - Cindy and her team in essence make this lodge worth our stay. We traveled some distance and were rewarded by a warm reception and a clean SUV the next day! Huge space especially for Honeymoon suit and lovely breakfast. The staff are by far the greatest asset of the establishment.

This was a birthday trip for my mom. She was so happy. Thank you to the team for going above and beyond for my parents especially Adele. There arent enough words to express my gratitude for the fantastic service. Room was spacious, food was divine and great value for money. The flowers, chocolates, and balloons delivered to her room were the cherry on top. Thank you for arranging.

Disappointed with Room Assignment – Not What I Booked I booked a large room well in advance, but upon arrival, I was given a small room instead. When I brought this up with the front desk, there was no proper explanation or effort to fix the issue. This was incredibly frustrating and felt misleading, as I paid for a better experience than what I received. On top of that, the room I ended up with was not worth the money I paid. I’m not happy with the amount they charged me—it felt like a complete ripoff. I would not recommend this hotel based on how they handled my reservation and the lack of customer care.

The food at the venue was not to 5-star quality at all and need massive improvement to make it worthwhile. The food was by far my biggest disappointment on the trip. The venue is also needing a little bit of TLC with wooden decks needing replacement and paint needed in various places. The room decor was done in a modern way, but this made the lounge set in my room very uncomfortable to sit on and basically made the lounge a no-go area.

The location has fantastic views and is just a short forest walk from the beach. The venue was very clean, and the room service was very good. Concerning the sea views there are few places that can compete.

Excellent breakfast with fruit, cereal, several options for cooked breakfast. Good generator, water, wifi - not always guaranteed on South Coast. Decent wine selection, dinner good and we appreciated the kitchen's flexibility to cater to my son's preferences. Amazing location with fabulous view of the ocean

What an awesome getaway. The property is as stunning as the images imply with great views of the ocean and clean rooms. The gardens are so beautiful. It looked and felt like summer in July. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Great views with a short adventure walk to the beach. Definitely worth the trip.

Shocking service from the host and manager. Rooms smelled damp and was very dirty, The bedding and pillows smelled so bad we could not sleep. bathroom was in a bad state. shower door/taps/fittings/toilet were all broken or loose. room curtain rail was loose and curtains were hanging. We scheduled a couples massage in the spa 3 weeks in advance but were told only when we arrived that one of the masseuses didn't turn up so they can only do one of the massages. The manager responded very rudely when we declined this. Breakfast service took 90 minutes, 60 minutes worth of waiting time which made us late for check out.

Location was excellent, secluded and private. great views and proximity to beach. great infrastructure but poorly maintained and dilapidated.

There was nothing that we didn't like. It was a luxurious, beautiful and exceptionally relaxing. We felt like we were away for a much longer time, even though it was just a short breakaway.

The breakfast was not only good, but more than enough. The team went out of their way to make our stay memorable and exceeded all expectations. Thanks for going the extra mile.

The food and drinks were rather pricey

This is truly a hidden gem, we stayed in the exquisite honey moon suite, the views of the ocean are breath taking, we actually were lucky enough to spot some dolphins and a whale from our balcony! Private access to the beach was an absolute bonus. Overall privacy was exceptional, we didnt even have to close our curtains ever. The staff was amazing, always ready to serve with a smile. The art work all around us amazing. Definitely would come back.
