Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Breakfast was only available for an hour from 7am-8am, but being on a farm, I guess thats kinda expected. With a place as cozy as it was, it was tough to not want to sleep in, but then you’d have to miss breakfast. You kinda wish they either had a non-breakfast option, which would probably cheapen the experience OR have breakfast extend till check-out, which would probably ruin the vibe that your on a farm. So its a hard to say. Wish I could’ve stayed longer.
I loved the decor of the place, taking into consideration it was on a farm. The piano with the guitar, outside next to the big tree; whoever thought of that was a genius. Even the trained farm dog, Buksie, always made you feel safe & welcome.

Everything was very well-kept and cozy, a very comfortable bed with an electric blanket. Very pleasant in the winter! We had a wonderful short stay.

The cleanliness, the friendliness and warmth from the host Liezel to her staff. The attention to detail of what the clients may need, electric blanket was sooooo thoughtful. The tranquility in that place is exceptional!!

When we booked, it stated the room would have a safe and also a stove. This is NOT true. We only stayed 1 night and cooked our meal in the microwave, so we managed. But the information given is not up-to-date.
Very spacious room and bathroom, clean and friendly hosts. Cute doggie. Very nice breakfast.

It's a bit far from town,I wasn't aware of the location when booking,but if you don't mind driving then it's fine. I had a bit of trouble getting my way with the TV and ended up watching videos on YouTube🤷
The place is beautiful,clean, quiet.The room has everything you can need a bar fridge,kettle, microwave, electric blanket, breakfast was amazing.i enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.

All was good, no complaints.
The hosts were incredibly friendly. We arrived late, yet they reopened the kitchen for us and prepared us a meal. Then, with the onward travel, they went out of their way to assist with bookings and advice on the road conditions. Rooms were very spacious - fabulous stay. The property is somewhat out of town and the access roads not all that fantastic - like almost all over South Africa. Coming from the north, avoid the Moolman drive turn-off and rather carry on via Piet Retief.

The lodge is situated outside of Piet Retief, which makes it a haven of peace after a long day of meetings and work, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Everything is well appointed and of a high standard. It is quiet and safe, with lovely gardens. The hosts are helpful and warm. We will never book anywhere else in that area now that we have found Deo Resta.

Walls might be a little thin, but we were all tired after drive, and BBQ on patio. No pool, but again nice farm garden setting.
Halfway from Marlane gate to Saint Lucía. Not far off N2 in cool rural area. Nice people and great breakfast to send you off. Lovely yard and secure parking.

The host made us feel welcome. The accommodation was comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Breakfast good. We strongly endorse Deo Resta Guest Lodge as the place to stay in the Mkkondo area.

Great farm in a village location owned by a family. The family room with kitchenette was very nice and complete. When we asked for something, they brought it immediately. Very relaxed atmosphere and the braai on the terrace was very useful.
