The bathroom was not on the same standard as the room. Very narrow spaces and the tiles looked very old and dirty. I was not able to use the bathtub due to water restrictions. (No bath plug provided) The shower was good and warm. I did not have a choice in the breakfast. It was delivered to my room and did not meet my expectations.

The room has a beautiful view of the ocean, and I loved the little patio outside the glass door towards the ocean view with a small table to sit outside. The room was nice and warm with the aircon, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the pure cotton bed linen. The bar fridge came in very handy, and I loved the plunger coffee. It was a very quiet room. There is a restaurant on the premises although I did not use it.

The location is beautiful and very peaceful. I was very impressed with the communication received from Correen on the day of our arrival. Very clear and concise and she even booked our table at Duttons Cove restaurant. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, as was the breakfast we received the following morning. They were very accommodating to my dietry requirements. The staff was great, the room very comfortable. We would definitely visit again. Hopefully in the summer time :)

The breakfast on the tray was wonderful, thank you so much. It was great to sit on the balcony and enjoy every bite in the peaceful morning air. The view of the waves from the bed was breathtaking, and the room was spotless and beautifully prepared. I especially loved the thoughtful touch of good coffee — thank you for a truly relaxing and memorable stay!

Restaurant food was excellent but decor Ned’s updating. Tiles in the shower very slippery creating safety hazard. No hair dryer in the rooms

Loved the location and the ambience. Staff were amazing. Corren was exceptional with communication and made us feel looked after. Kelvin and Ester at the restaurant were wondering too

There was nothing not to like. Only thing which bothered my husband a bit, was the purple/blue lights from the restaurant above shining in and lighting up the room at night. But if you sleep sound through everything like myself, it is no problem.

We both enjoyed our stay. Good location and lovely clean room with a balcony and beautiful view. Had a good nights rest in plush and clean bedding. This establishment really takes care of small extras like water, tea, coffee and milk plus a coffee plunger in the room and also good towels. We enjoyed the very tasty breakfasts on the 3 mornings. Loved the fact that it was a different breakfast each morning. Especially loved the delivery of the breakfast to the room at a time of your choice. We would definitely visit again. Correen was very helpful and kind and I appreciated that she answered her messages as well as the phone without delay. A big plus point is the restaurant with the best fish I have ever tasted, right on the premises.

Dutton's Cove is situated high on the hill overlooking the beautiful Heralds Bay. A 5-minute walk downhill gets you to the pristine beach and beautiful warm waters of the Indian Ocean. A beautifully presented breakfast is served to the room. Right next door is the restaurant for lunch and dinner. Rooms are clean and basic - having what you need.

Nothing to dislike

Perfect location in a lovely spot in Herold's Bay. Dutton's Cove was just right for our needs, a comfortable room and bed etc for a family reunion closeby. Coreen and staff were so friendly and Super attentive to detail. Great communication. Lovely to fall asleep to the sounds of the Ocean. :) Wish we could have stayed much longer! Thank you so much.

Breakfast could be served a little bit earlier, but otherwise everything was perfect.

Dutton's Cove offers a peaceful and well-positioned retreat, perfect for both leisure and business travelers.** Conveniently situated near George, Mossel Bay, and just a short drive from George Airport, it’s an ideal base for exploring the area. The breakfast is simple but delicious, and the room includes a coffee station where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at your leisure. Safe parking is available, and there's a lovely on-site restaurant for added convenience. Best of all is the breathtaking view over the ocean—truly a highlight of the stay. I highly recommend Dutton's Cove, whether you're staying for a night or a week, to experience the serenity and charm of Herolds Bay.

Shower was a bit "slopey" so even with mat felt I felt a bit unstable. Although the breakfast was enjoyable, it would have been nice to have been given a couple of choices to pick from (although venue was more then happy to assist with dietary requirements for some of our group). Not venue's fault at all so more of a heads up - Google maps sees the road the venue is on as closed so re-directs you to the middle of Herold's Bay nowhere near the venue for some reason.

Views are amazing, staff is great, rooms had everything we needed, shower was awesome! Loved the restaurant on site, staff was great and food was great.

Understandably we couldn't use the bath because of water restrictions but the shower was very nice. The hot water just doesn't last long so you need to take very quick showers. Probably good because of the water restrictions in any case. I think there might be some maintenance needed for the taps in the shower. They are somewhat loose.

The unit was very clean, so that was appreciated. The beds were very comfortable. I like a high bed. The view from the unit we were in was quite ok, could see part of the ocean. I think the front units might have an even better view. There's very tasty filter coffee in the room, loved it. The breakfast was amazing! Very tasty bacon and egg toasties and delicious yogurt and muesli with fruit. Breakfast was brought to the room on time. The little bar fridge in the room works perfectly. There's also more than enough space for you to put your clothes in cupboard for longer stay or to live out of your suitcase. The TV has got the necessary DSTV channels but Heroldsbay is so awesome, you need to be outside in my opinion. We had dinner at the restaurant and got very good service from the waitress Alex. She had very difficult customers sitting at the table next to us, but she was patient and offered us alternative seating to get away from them which really saved our dinner experience. The food was nice, good menu selection.
