Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The DSTV channels available were poor. Toilet seat was not secure- On one side, there is no screw. Shower curtain was missing. Towel rod needs fixing. The grouting around the bath is black and needs attention. The base for the bedside lamp was missing. 1 x Globe in the kitchen not working. Verandah light not working. Some of the bowls in the kitchen cupboard were grubby/dirty. Black marks on the ceiling in the main living area Only 3 coat-hangers in the cupboard

Bathroom was a disaster. Broken toilet seat, probably from people twisting around to reach the toilet roll holder which is behind the toilet and almost under the shower attachment. No shower rail or curtain. When using the shower attachment above the bath, the entire toilet (you have to remove the toilet roll from its holder under the shower attachment to shower) and the bathroom floor gets soaking wet. Made for an uncomfortable stay.
Spectacular view, very clean.

The facilities could be better, changing the shower curtain and a few small thing like the couch could be start.
The location was perfect, given that it was very close to our actual destination and we stayed only one night.

room could have fumigated
Shower was leaking ans the room was infested with cockroaches. Cupboards and dishes were smelling of dampness. Very diappointed

There is not much that I didn't like only the bed keep separating to one another if that can be changed it would be better and I don't know if its possible adjust the toilet to us chubby people its too close to the bath tub and please add more hangers
I loved everything about the place its quite the noise is not there and the location is easy to find not to far from the shops and the other places to visit

The room was not very clean, walked barefoot on the tiles and realised how dirty the tiles were, had a musty smell, the ceiling had water stains like there was a leak from above. the bed was very uncomfortable. Furniture was old and needed to be upgraded. I know the apartment F19 is private owned, but Ocean Villa's reputation is at stake, because F19 is part of Ocean Villa. The receptionist I spoke to on Monday morning the 23/12/2024, was not very helpful & very unfriendly, when I complained about the insects on the stairway walls, from Sunday nite, all he had to do was call the cleaners. He told me to leave the room keys inside the room, I didn't think that was the safe thing to do, I left the keys with the guard, my suggestion is have a box at reception to drop the keys in. He couldn't help me because it was private owned apartment, but you can be polite and courteous.

It was a self catering unit and I should bring my own I guess, but I kind of expected the coffee station to be well stocked not empty, since THERE is one in the room already. If the aim is not to offer it, then there shouldn't be an empty station to start with. Besides that I was more than happy with my stay. Everything neat, I had a comfortable stay, and the warmest welcome and hospitality from Shorayi.

The bathroom space is too small. The toilet is too close to the bath tub and there is no shower curtain or shower protector so everything gets wet while bathing

Room wasn’t clean I last so a person when she was handing over the key.they didn’t even change sheets the entire weekend we used same sheets
