South AfricaThis was our second stay at this amazing boutique hotel, and it was just as great as the first. The staff are super welcoming, and the service from check-in to check-out was spot on. The hotel is in a gorgeous old building that used to be the original home of the famous Thesen family. It’s perched above Knysna with jaw dropping views of the lagoon and Knysna Heads, but only a minute’s drive from all the great restaurants and shops on Thesen Island. We enjoyed their on-site restaurant, which is fantastic, and they’ve recently added a brand new 25-meter pool and a gym in their spacious gardens.

AustraliaThe Manor House is stunning and a lovely place to stay. Sue and Danelle were very warm and welcoming, the rooms are very spacious and classy and the view over Knysna is wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and the dinner was exceptional. A we'll managed venue and although it was very brief, we were always made to feel very welcome and we really enjoyed our short stay.

A beautiful house high about the city, a nice place to relax. The terrace has a wonderful view over Knysna. A rich breakfast is serviced in the garden. The staff is great and very welcoming! Definitely recommend!

Falcons View is an old manor house filled with both charm and comfort. It is a delightful and comfortable place to stay. The views across the lagoon from the verandah are spectacular, and the garden at the back is lush and tranquil. I think the breakfasts and dinners are some of the best food in the area (have the ostrich if it's on the dinner menu - it's amazing !). This is my second visit to Falcons View, and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

An outstanding property with amazing views and grounds, complimented by well organised staff who look after guests with seamless efficiency in a cosy & comfortable property. We met several guests who have stayed at FVM repeatedly and now we absolutely know why. Breakfast is lovely and we were recommended to try the restaurant for dinner - it is brilliant and we ate twice during our 3 night stay. If we return to the Knysna area in future when on the garden route, we will desperately want to stay at FVM.

This is an exceptional hotel that feels very welcoming. Beautiful period features and amazing landscaped gardens with a fantastic swimming pool. The views from the front porch are breathtaking and it is the perfect spot to have a drink and watch the sunset. The hosts are friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay the best. The food was delicious and breakfast in the courtyard each morning was delightful.

United KingdomUnfortunately, our initial welcome fell short of expectations. We arrived later than anticipated at around 10pm after a long drive from Cape Town, and the reception we received was unwelcoming and abrupt. It felt as though our late arrival was an inconvenience, which was disappointing compared to the warm welcomes we’ve experienced elsewhere in South Africa. Additionally, we felt undue pressure at breakfast each morning to plan and commit to dinner at the property, which detracted from our relaxed holiday vibe. While we appreciated their focus on fresh ingredients, the repeated questioning and comments like “where do you eat normally” made us feel uncomfortable. As first-time young travelers to South Africa, we were keen to explore the local area and sample a variety of dining experiences. It’s a shame these interactions marred an otherwise fantastic stay in a stunning location. We highly recommend the property for its ambiance and quality, but suggest more flexibility and respect for guests’ holiday rhythms.
We had a wonderful six-night stay over New Year at Falcons View Manor. The views are absolutely stunning and the peacefulness of the property was exactly what we were looking for. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and the pool area is a tranquil spot to relax. The waiting staff, gardeners and cleaning team were all exceptional—friendly and attentive to every detail. Our room was cleaned meticulously every day. Breakfast was a highlight with a delightful combination of a made-to-order hot selection and an extensive cold buffet. The food overall was excellent, and the chef's dedication to fresh, quality ingredients was evident. A special mention must go to Danielle, who went above and beyond in helping us explore the area. Her advice, maps and hiking suggestions were invaluable and much appreciated.

United KingdomThere were a couple of small maintenance issues and I think the main house could probably do with a refurb as the decor is a little dated but this does not detract from a great stay.
The location and the view are stunning and the property is brilliantly run. Service is excellent and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast which was so well presented and delicious! There was an excellent variety of food both cooked and cold. Try the homemade ice cream for dessert if you choose to eat in for dinner....it was fantastic! The swimming pool facility is beautiful and there is a small gym which was much appreciated and very nicely fitted out.
