How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff is very friendly, property is spacious, comfortable and family friendly. We enjoyed the facilities. Beautiful lounging and pool area. The breakfast specials are always amazing.

Slight issues with TV but really not a crisis
For the first time in my travelling, this was beyond to beyond beautiful. My child and my niece loved it too. My child wants me to bring her back again

No complaints
We have stayed at the sister lodge before, but Francolin is a little different, yet we had a comfortable stay. Staff are friendly and always willing to help with the Orange Restaurant on the premises is a plus bonus. Overall, we were very happy and cannot really find anything negative other than making it a more smoke free environment for smokers not having to walk so far to have a smoke.

In my humble opinion, three aspects could be improved: the price, the quality of the internet, and the breakfast. The price is significantly higher than the provided service. The Wi-Fi internet connection is very intermittent, limiting functionality. The breakfast could offer more options.

The top room fan was not working and it was hot

The mattress on the bed was too hard for my liking.
The Restaurant was excellent, very good food, presented to the highest standard in a fantastic location. We entertained some friends on the deck and we were very pleased with the excellent dining. The breakfast was very nice in the lovely gardens. We will be back!

Can not complain about anything.
The breakfast served is based on the Lodge's available special on the day, tasted amazing! Room was very clean and had adequate light control (lots of natural light and heavy curtains). Lodge has onsite restaurant called Orange Restaurant that offers fine dining.

Everything about this place is amazing. The rooms are very clean, you can literally eat from the floor. Their Orange restaurant has the best of everything, from great views, service and the food was great. The breakfast was far better than anything I've had so far. Great value for money.

The fan was not working, an additional fan was given on the first day, the following day we came very late then the fan was taken .. but overall am happy

No Ironing facilities in the Room.
The Room was great and very spacious. The King size bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. Breakfast was also awesome and really enjoyed the fruit.

Maybe a buffet breakfast or even extend the breakfast hours to at least 10am. Oh and a room telephone for enquiries is a need.
Our stay was really amazing, reception staff was so welcoming and explained some house keeping rules to us before we went to our room. The room itself was awesome, clean, spacious and everything was working perfectly fine. And the breakfast was great including the dinner we had on our arrival with some beautiful ambient live music. We would consider coming back to explore the pool.
