Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The location and surroundings seem unsafe. It would also help if the staff can be a little more friendly and not wait for sisGetty only.

The bathroom is not big enough for ensuite, toilet and basin are too close , if you're a bit taller it's a bit of a challenge to sit well without your knees touching the basin , otherwise everything was good
The room was clean , welcoming and quiet , hot water , bath tub and shower and also towels . Bed sheets were washed and white so that's a plus.

We didn't have hot water on day 2 and also how the owner went about resolving the issue, lack of professionalism. It affected our plans for the day, because we had to wait for the water to get hot.
The place was very clean and very close to the main attraction area, which is Sun City Resort.

The property was very clean and easy check in. The only thing I didn’t like was the error on booking.com side because that made seem like liars and the lady at the reception kept calling us liars in her home language. I made a booking for 5 people 2 adults and 3 kids. Two kids over 12 and one under 12. We usually get a sleeper coach for the child under 12 when ever we are travelling. But this time it seems like booking.com omitted one person and I don’t even know why. I didn’t mind paying a little extra but to omit a whole person that didn’t make sense to me. And what I didn’t like even though the corrected it when. We complain was that the water was cold they first day we got there but fortunately when we complained about that it was corrected same time

The number for reservations was not very responsive. We were lost and the person kept cutting our calls. The staff had no idea of what we booked.
The property is very clean and in a good location.

Can't really point out any significant issues, but the water pressure was a bit erratic, however honestly not that bad. Light in bathroom was very dim, but the host sorted us out with a portable LED.
Everything was squeaky clean and with me travelling with my wife and kids, it was something that I appreciated a lot. Spacious, very welcoming, and everything in its place.

The paving needs to be fixed.It makes it challenging to get out of the car when it rains because of water patches.
I have been booking at Getty's everytime I visit Sun City. The host is very friendly and humble. I will always book at this place when I visit the area.

I didn't like how the staff behaved I felt so unwelcome, if I had an option I was going to check out immediately after checking in ,I honestly regretted booking the place, I hardly comment on reviews but this one I couldn't miss it for the world.

Communication wasn't the best. we had no water and we had to ask the workers to switch on the pump. The was no cold water from the tap as well only hot ones.

I could not watch TV as it was not connected to the wifi.

√ Check-in closes at 8pm unfortunately even though there is staff in the facility 24 hours a day. If you come after 20h00 you will have no place to stay √ We had a little contention about my 100k bicycle being in the room. There was no way it going to sit outside. (I was there for a cycling event) √ When you run this type of business, give your guests privacy until they checkout. Treat this like a hotel and not a household

The intercom was not functioning. We couldn’t access the place since the gate was locked. We were visiting from Botswana, we couldn’t call the WhatsApp line as we did not have cellphone service. The owner ignored us as we were hooting at the gate. Upon realizing we were clients and us stating our reasons for not being able to call the WhatsApp line no apology was offered though we were stranded at the gate for a while in the middle of the night.
