We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

South AfricaTo start, one room was still not ready to be occupied at 18:00. There were no towels, the room had a funny smell and a stip of condoms next to your bed was not very pleasing, to be honest. The room had a boisterous Fan, but no aircon as indicated. The toilet lid was badly broken and there was no hot water in the shower, so I had to take a freezing shower.
The lady at reception was friendly, and the location was very good. It is close to the CBD and in a safe area.

South AfricaBad, absolutely not what you expect from a guest house. My wife and I did not even sleep there for the 2 nights due to the unprofessional service. We phoned other guest houses not far away in the same price class and booked 2 nights with one of the guest houses and it was wonderful with professional service. I phoned the owner of Happy Guest house to refund my money, he refused to refund me and had a very unprofessional attitude towards a customer paying for "good" service.
Nothing, the place and staff is pathetic and the owner does not care at all about his customers
