The water in one of our rooms was a bit unpredictable, we had a couple of cold showers. In the other room the toilet didn’t always flush.

This was an amazing experience. We went on 2 games drives a day and each time we saw new scenes! Not only the big 5 but all the other animals going about their business (buck, jackals, meerkats, zebras). Our safari guide (Abby) was very knowledgeable and also very entertaining. The room was spacious, the lodge was cosy and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

We had trouble with the hot water supply. The toilet did not look clean. The outside shower had flys with standing water on the floor. I booked this stay via Booking.com and would have liked a direct link to drhe Hlosi website with information about the drives and other options. I would have liked information on gratuities prior to my stay with some assurance on how staff would receive any gratuities.I We were presented with an envelope on departure.

Our trip was made exceptional by Ranger K who is 25 years old He had extensive knowledge of the animals were were able to see. These included Elephant Zebra Cheetah Lions Rhino Giraffe and Buffalo. K had extensive knowledge of the flaura & fauna and identified any birds we asked about. We would rate him as exceptional as did the other 6 onboard our vehicle on all 4 drives. We liked our accommodation which is a. Individual lodge offering king size bed and lounge area with walk in shower and bath toilet and access to an outside shower. The main house with old world charm (it's the former family farm house) has a open terrace on which breakfast and lunch were served from which you can see the watering hole where animals (Rhino's Zebra and Hippo) can be seen. We returned from an evening drive in a cool breeze. Staff meet you with a clean cloth and there was a drink with a warm fire close by. The drinks package was much appreciated. The staff were all polite and friendly.

I thought the food was adequate, but very ordinary. Breakfast was good,, but lunch was the low point and dinner was boring. I also think for a lodge of Hlosi's rating and standing, that a decent coffee machine is in order!

The ambiance, the friendly, attentive and helpful staff and the setting. The games drives were fantastic.

The food at the lodge was tasty and filling however could be improved.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in SA. We received a very warm welcome including a welcome drink and some lunch. Check-in was super easy, and we were given a tour of the premises. Our room was beautiful, with a lovely view over the game reserve, where we were able to spot warthogs, antelope and the baby hippo which lives in the waterhole. The service was fantastic, and nothing was a bother, they kindly decorated our room after one of our game drives with a selection of cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine, which went down very nicely! The game drives, however, were the highlight. We did 6 in total, each very different but all very special. our driver, Evence, was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to spot the animals from miles away! We managed to see rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and antelope all up close. Our stops for morning coffee and sundowners were always in beautiful locations and we had an array of choices of drinks. We would definitely recommend staying here

The pool couldn’t be used

The Hlosi game lodge and the reserve were one of our highlights of our SA trips. We had a lovely very spacious house and deck with 2 bathrooms with in- and outside showers. Restaurant and deck with view to the waterhole with 2 hippos was amazing. All game drives were breathtaking and “successful”. We saw all big five (replacing the leopard by cheetahs) plus giraffes, zebras, kudus, etc. very close. It was our best location to spot many animals.

Everything!! The game reserve drives were unbelievable - our driver Evance was so knowledgable. Each drive was so different but so enjoyable and truly a once in a lifetime experience. The staff in the lodge were so attentive and helpful. We had such a brilliant stay and would highly recommend to everyone!

We had an amazing experience at this game lodge and it was one of the highlights on our trip. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was excellent and had great options to choose from. Our game drives were superb and we saw so many animals. The game driver was knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure that we had a great experience. The room itself was fabulous and the view from your balcony was great - we could even see quite a few animals from it too. Highly recommend!

An absolutely fantastic few weeks at Hlosi. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We were told we were on holiday and not to lift a finger! Our room was wonderful, with a large walk in shower, bath and even outdoor shower. We had a deck overlooking the reserve and would see wild game from there every morning. The food was lovely and plentiful. We had the most spectacular game drives. Again, the staff were all wonderful and we have memories that will last a lifetime. I would absolutely recommend staying at Hlosi.

Nothing perfect for a family safari

The food choice was a bit limited, especially for a coeliac, who must be gluten free.

The tent was lovely. Secluded with a lovely view of the mud wallow. The staff were fantastic and the game drives and the bush walk excellent experience and education.

The staff were so helpful and kind. The game viewing was incredible and Dario, the ranger, was very respectful of the animals, passionate about what he does and knowledgeable. The location is perfect, the watering hole is a lovely spot to quietly watch animals as you read your book. Very convenient to get to from PE airport. The rooms were clean with appropriate decor. I loved having a bath in our safari tent whilst watching for animals out the window. We stayed at Bukela, the more expensive and 5 star equivalent and had a better experience at Hlosi. I'd highly recommend Hlosi to anyone wanting a high quality safari experience.

Wonderful experience! Staff was friendly and promptly met every need. Food was good. Rooms were comfortable. We loved watching wildlife from our tent windows and deck. We enjoyed the hippo family at the lodge. We saw lots of animals on our game drives.
