An excellent breakfast was served on a private balcony with views of the sea and mountains. Hosts went out of their way to make you feel welcome, plus the extra mile when I needed some help. Room was fabulous.

What a beautiful property with gorgeous gardens. Sue and Martin were relaxing hosts, providing a delicious breakfast and helpful guidance as to our itinerary. It was a special way to start our holiday in South Africa. Lots of room to unwind . Attentive hosts and our kitchenette , living room , bathroom and bedroom were cleaned every day.

We can’t think of anything we didn’t like!

We had a large, nicely furnished room that opened onto a terrace overlooking the garden. Breakfast was served on the terrace and was delicious with healthy options. The garden is stunning and we loved sitting outside in the evening. Martin and Sue were very knowledgeable about the local area and their tips enhanced our stay. They were particularly kind in helping us arrange a doctors appointment when one was needed.

We loved the Hout Bay Hideaway. We stayed in the ocean facing room which was perfect. Great breakfast and hosts. We would stay again as we liked the position near the town. Excellent!

We loved our stay here, Sue & Martin were so helpful and lovely, and made us feel so at home. Our room was very comfortable, with wonderful views and a big terrace with a fantastic view to the sea. A perfect morning yoga and breakfast spot. Gorgeous garden and pool area too… we thoroughly recommend Hout Hideway , thank you so much .

Some noise from neighbouring properties, but this is being picky.

Location superb, away from busy areas yet close enough to walk. Sue and Martin saw to our every need and were the perfect hosts.

This is just a note for travelers who don't have a car and rely on uber. You will struggle to get a car from Hout Bay in the evenings. Getting to Hout Bay is not an issue at any time though.

Where to start, everything about this little hideaway was magical! The location is secluded and quiet, with a spectacular view. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is scrumptious. The bed is comfy. The water pressure in the shower is just perfect. Everything is super clean. And wait until you discover the secret kitchen in your room!

The property is in a stunning location surrounded by trees on a hill overlooking Hout Bay. Our room was very spacious and delightfully furnished, complete with a small integrated kitchen. Outside there is a huge balcony with dining furniture and loungers where you can sit and relax in a lovely, peaceful setting. Our hosts Sue and Martin were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay there again

The TV did not work, which we did not find a problem. But the room facilities mentionned a TV. This was the only minus

Sue and Martin are hospitable and warm-hearted people. They do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible and make you feel at home. The property is nicely located in a wooded and safe area without through traffic. The house itself is tastfully decorated. Our room and the adjacent bathroom were very big. The room also included a built-in pantry (behind closable doors), with coffee and tea facilities, a small refrigerator and a micro wave. The extensive and tasty breakfast was served outside on the balcony. Parking possibilities in the garage or on the street in front (also very safe). Close to restaurants and shops in the center of Hout Bay and other locations such as Camps Bay, Chapman's peak and Capetown center and water front.

A gem of a place to stay - hidden away on a residential street, wonderful views, beautifully furnished. Sue and Martin are lovely hosts - kind, warm and full of good tips. We loved being in Hout Bay, it felt liked an oasis after a day in the city.

We loved the location & the room was spotlessly clean. Our hosts were warm & welcoming. We loved having a leisurely breakfast on the veranda each morning. We will be back to stay the next time we go to South Africa and will definitely stay longer to take advantage of staying in this special place.

We really loved the location. Close to the village in a safe area and and fantasic room with porch and swimming pool in front.

Lovely hosts, wonderful home, great location. The pool, deck and the breakfast served on the deck were a dream. Spacious room with little kitchenette and super comfy bed. Safe parking inside garage. And last but not least, gorgeous artworks around the house! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Sue & Martin are the most perfect hosts you could imagine. The hideaway is cosy, quiet and in a fantastic location. Anyone who has had their first breakfast on the balcony with a marvellous view knows what I'm talking about. Sue & Martin are simply enchanting and are happy to help and advise. The hideaway is perfect for excursions to Cape Point, the Waterfront, Table Mountain etc. We can recommend it without any doubt and if we are in the area again, we will stay with them again. There is nothing that I can think of.

The house is in a quiet, secluded location, but only a short stroll (or very short drive) from town. Our well equiped spacious room looked out onto a lovely green, hillside garden; plentiful birdsong and butterflies. We breakfasted and "sundowned" each day on a veranda directly outside our room. It was all delightful. Msrtin and Sue, the hosts, were charming, friendly and helpful in all things. We could not be more pleased we stayed at Hout Bay Hideaway and will do so again if/when we revisit the area.
