Beautiful location and wonderfully attentive hosts! We were met at the gate and walked into the property, which has a beautiful garden an mountain view. The fridge had water and juice on arrival and the cottage is super cosy and private. Definitely will be returning!

Nothing not to like.

The cottage is set in the large beautiful gardens of the main house but tucked away peacefully on its own with a lovely view. It’s extremely comfortable with nice furnishings & very comfy beds with beautiful top quality bed linen. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could think of & a washing machine, pegs, clothes line, washing liquid, ironing board & iron so we could catch up on our laundry. Lynn & Bryan are warm gracious & generous hosts, they left lots of extras in the kitchen which was a welcome surprise. This was one of the best stays we had on our trip & highly recommend it if you are visiting the beautiful Midlands. Thank you Lynn & Bryan.

The double bed mattress is beginning to collapse. There are alarms of some sort in the bedrooms which flash a very bright light all night - very distracting. Perhaps some sort of dark tape or similar should be put over them. When there are 4 people staying, juggling the bathroom is a bit difficult - a separate toilet would have helped.

Very comfortable, good kitchen facilities, not that we used them.

Nothing - a very minor thing is the very first entry trying to get a gate code on an Australian mobile phone ! - but Bryan opened up & then of course we had the electronic fob from the cottage so all good

Gardens - very quite area - well appointed - clean - all utensils provided even a washing machine & drying line & pegs ! - of course the dogs & birds & occasional monkey to look at ….

From the easy check in, to a wonderful greeting and spoils of biscuits, milk, juice and water waiting for us in our cottage. The scenery was amazing and everything needed was available. My family was very comfortable and loved every minute we stayed there.

Idavold is a home away from home. It's our second visit and Idavold has spoilt us with their hospitality. Upon arrival there is a litre of milk, juice and bottled water in the fridge. Tea and filter coffee and yummy Wedgewood biscuits. A treat of nougat on each bed which really excites the kids. Lynn even keeps all the household detergents and even laundry detergent for guests to use in the washing machine. Shampoo, hand-wash, bodywash available in bathroom. Even pool towels. Washing machine easy to operate and washing line in the backyard. Plenty of books to choose from for all ages can be found on the 4 tier bookshelf in the dining and family board games . The garden is massive! With literally 4 different gardens to play/ picnic. A variety of trees, plants, flowers like your very own botanical gardens. Kids enjoyed exploring and enjoying the well maintained gardens. We were lucky to have sunny weather so we enjoyed swimming in the pool. Jungle gym kept the kids outdoors for hours and the massive garden made a great soccer field and cricket pitch. We enjoyed braaing, even charcoal was available. Shops are close by which is convenient, and as you drive towards the property you are greeted by stunning horses and lovely ponies. Very safe and secure with electric fencing and gate controlled access. Lynn is very accommodating and ensures her guests have a wonderful stay. We loved Idavold and it will be our regular holiday home. Lynn's hospitality is difficult to find elsewhere that's why we will keep coming back. She has exceeded our expectations and spoilt us! And yes beds are very comfortable!

A non-essential but might have liked an option to have a domestic worker assist with a clean-up. Reason being, was out and about early mornings and only back late at nights. But as said, a non-essential.

This cottage is home away from home. It offers everything one wants. Kitchen is equipped with all essentials to work your magic in the kitchen. Bedrooms, very cosy, good quality beds and linen and very clean. Living room equipped with very comfortable sofas and a backup power back for the dreaded load shedding, keeping the lights on and entertainment in the background. It was a pleasure to get bac to this little gem after a very busy day.

My husband is a large man so it would have been great to have a bigger double bed but apart from that everything we needed was catered for.

The cottage is on a beautiful, quiet property and is comfortable. It’s got everything you’d need and we had a great weekend. The hosts are very hospital and were on hand when we needed them.
