A little slice of heaven! We were warmly received by Peta. The cottage is clean, well looked after, and thoughtfully set up. From sitting by the window with our morning coffee to listening to the sounds of nature off the deck, we enjoyed every moment. Our hosts respected our privacy the entire stay, which truly did make this feel like a hideout.

Chairs and bed were a little uncomfortable and around the basin in the bathroom needs more of a clean/tiles to remove the white splatters.

It was private, idyllic and peaceful with the opportunity to walk through the property on marked out trails. Within a nice distance of things to do in the area and shops and restaurants.

The Hideout is beautifully done and has a very cosy feel to it, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. It allowed us to escape city life and have the most relaxing weekend away. The bed was so comfy and we loved the big windows that overlooked the stunning views. Peta was lovely and on hand to answer any questions when needed. I already miss the Hideout and everything it had to offer, we’ll definitely be back soon!

I had the pleasure of staying at Karkloof Hideout this past December, and it was an absolute gem! Nestled in the most tranquil setting, it was exactly what I needed to unwind after a busy year. The hideout itself was incredibly cozy and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. The attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home. One of my favorite parts of the experience was taking peaceful walks through the beautiful trails that surround the property. The scenery was breathtaking and gave me a sense of calm I hadn’t felt in a long time. Evenings were spent curled up by the fire, reading a good book and savoring a glass of gin – pure bliss! I only wish I could have stayed longer because I genuinely didn’t want to leave. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to this little slice of paradise. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape to recharge and reconnect with nature, I highly recommend Karkloof Hideout.

We absolutely lived everything

The place is perfect and peaceful. Peta and her husband checked on us regularly, they welcome was warm and kind. The facilities were near by and we had everything we needed in the cabin.

The location and the amazing view and the surrounds of huge trees and lush green bush. The unit is open with high windows and a rustic feel. Enough amenities and well designed. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax and feel nature.

Location is excellent - plenty to do on your doorstep. The hideout is perfect for a break from the hustle and bustle, tranquil and thoughtful spaces to enjoy reading a book, bird watching from the deck, enjoy a braai.

The wifi was a bit slow but it was another reason to enjoy the company and environment. The living rooms needs a comfortier couch to cozy up next to the fire

The fact that the fire place's glass front had been blocked up by a solid cover. One could not see the flames and experience having a fire in winter 🔥.

An incredible place, internet pictures don't do it justice! Most amazing craftsmanship of the building itself ( beautiful wooden floor, impressive doors with a history, the play of light in the building is fascinating... and lot more) and also beautifully decorated with such attention to detail, so much so that the experience of the accommodation stands out on its own. Solid, reliable Wi-Fi connection, great shower and comfortable bed, would be a great place for longer stay for finishing of some tedious writing work one is stuck with or procrastinating. Great walks and just beautiful environment all together. The hosts were such lovely people to meet and their creativity is evident everywhere on the property.
