After a long drive, I found Karoo Nest very welcoming! It is very neat.The kitchen is well equipped and everything you need for a braai is supplied. They even have braai packs available. I really appreciated the communications from the host. My booking was changed without any hazzles and I was notified of an event that took place the evening of my stay. I think the name suits the place beautifully!

Wonderfully friendly hosts that immediately included me in activities in the village. Excellent restaurants nearby. Lovely wines. Magnificent scenery.

On arrival we were met by a few local kids begging at our window while waiting outside the gate. There were no issues, nothing to do with the property, but just be careful in the town.

Amazing hosts, Roger is very welcoming. Left us braai wood and fire starters and the braai packs were a great touch. The outside area is lovely and the apartment was very clean and well looked after.

It was close to everything. Although it was next to the owners we were never in each others space. Shirley and Roger quietly assisted where ever they could and are super friendly and helpfull hosts. We will definitely use them again. It is quiet and tranquil. The outaide area of our unit had the most gorgeous succulants. On the day of our arrival we were running late and Shirley arranged 3 braaipacks to be placed in our fridge, together with food, firelighters and matches that were waiting at the braai for us. With complementary port. Super comfortable and well worth it. Did not want to come home. Thank you Shirley and Roger for you hospitality.

Sitting on the stoep outside the room the aircon of the main house was loudly running just a few meters away. In room Info it says that they want to minimize contact with guests, strange. Bedding is synthetic, had to ask for cotton pillow case in 30plus degree weather.

Only thing missing was two comfortable chairs or a two seater couch to relax in.

Overall, this accommodation is good value for money. It is neat and clean, and it gave us a typical Calitzdorp karoo town experience. It is centrally located and within walking distance, to most places we wanted to visit. The many little extras [for example, wood, lighters for braai, good complimentary port wine, and more] were quite nice.
