How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The water in the shower was freezing at first but it got hotter as we let it run, other than that everything was perfect!

Verified reviewWe had the most incredible weekend getaway at Kruger Ranch from the 1st to the 4th of May, and we honestly loved everything about our stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. The accommodation was comfortable and cozy—our beds were wonderfully warm and inviting, which made our stay even more relaxing. A very special mention must go to Clint, who was truly amazing. Such a lovely person who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us. His warmth and hospitality really made the experience unforgettable.
There is genuinely nothing we can fault—every moment was just amazing. We’re so thankful for such a peaceful and enjoyable time, and we’ll definitely be back!

Verified reviewEverything we needed was already there. All the cutlery and crockery was more than what we had at home. There was more wood than we could use, clean towels and bedding. We got way more than expected!!! Would rate it more if I could. Host was a great guy!!

Verified reviewNothing, There's absolutely nothing to do! I mean not a single sight viewing, wild animals apart from the 2 zebras that we saw for 2 minutes on Friday when we got there. Waste of money!
Nothing, the images exaggerate the lifestyle and what one is supposed to expect. There was nothing to do there except eat and sleep in a cold chalet without any heaters. No welcoming reception, you call the owner and he opens the gate for you without even knowing who's who. Which Chalet are you in? Apparently it's a first come first serve policy which is not included in the booking, how funny. Everything is being run down in that ranch. Kids' swings and jungle gym needs to be replaced. Complete misrepresentation!
Wow!! This is a total lie and you know it. I am not sure what you really wanted to do or what you expected. We are not misrepresented. You booked a cabin and you got what you booked. I am once again not sure what you wanted. Yes for your and my own security you need to call to gain access to the property. This is a farm that has game on it. Leaving the gate open would allow the animals to go through the gate. We live on a farm and security is of a utmost priority and your safety is important to us. However enough said. When you visit places that is in the bush dont remove any wood or break branches off trees. We sell wood for your convinience. When I asked you not to do that you lied and told me my staff said you can break trees and remove wood from the bush. You wanted a tv. I cant control the weather and the rain. However you complained so much about everything I am not sure why you did not ask for a heater. Why would you require a heater in summer I have no idea. We offer game drives and you did not want to go on one. We offer clay pigeon shooting but you did not want to do that. There is a swimming pool but yiu did not swim. You are a young man and seems that you booked on behalf of your parents. My advise to you is dont sit and complain about the luxuries of life if you did not want to stay in the bush. We went out of our why to try and accommodate you and even moved you to another unit at no extra charge. You disrespected my staff and shouted at them because they did not clean the new unit quick enough after other guests checked out. You demanded that unit and I explained that we needed to prepare it and yet you still disrespected my staff after I called them on thier day off. This is the type of guest that you will never satisfy. Thank you for your support.

Website information outdated and does give a true reflection of what is available and what you should bring for the self-catering unit.

The gravel road, especially because it was raining so maybe a warning before would have prepared us.

Toilets were far from the tents
wow. We are extremely sorry that you did not like your stay. A rating of 2.5 is not a real reflection but you do have the right to rate as yiu feel. You enjoyed the bed and atleast it was clean. But the rest was a problem. The Safari tents are located about 50m away from the bathrooms or ablution block. I think your rating is not very fair. staff 2.5 wow location 2.5 wow value for money 2.5 wow The safari tents are fully equiped with all you need and at the cheapest price. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Yes the safari tents do not have tv's inside. Infact non of our faclities have tv's inside them. We have a common area in the lodge that one can watch tv if the urge is big. We are out in the bush and we have "bush tv". Much better than the real tv. You can hear the sounds of the animals and more so the Lions roaring at night. thank you for your support Hope to see you soon.
