Staff member was not very accommodating in messages. I messaged to say that we were just up the road having our wedding celebration and her response was "but i am going to a braai at 7". I feel that she could have approach this differently - "after 7, I wont be available, what plan can we make for you to receive the key etc". Just better courtesy or consideration would have been great.

Location perfect for our needs. Hostess was very friendly and accommodated our late arrival. She even organised us some hot water so we could get a cup of coffee as loadshedding had just started. Breakfast was great!

there is no mention of dogs on the property. There are 6 jack Russell’s that are not kept away and they bark a lot as well as at night.

Insects & insect faeces are everywhere. Against walls, Curtains. I was warned by the owner & a towel is over one bed to protect the bed from faeces! (Lizards, I was told) Duvet Covers are stained with spots. No bath/shower gel etc before my last evening as well as no teaspoons with coffee/tea/etc. A plastic one was added on my last evening. I asked to change to another room, as the single room had no bathroom ensuite...I am a lady guest & will not walk 20m to the bathroom through a guesthouse full of people I do not know. The adapter or power supply was totally faulty. To access TV, one has to plug out power supply every time. This applies to the air conditioner as well. Towels are a poor quality. To top it all, I moved to an ensuite room as mentioned above, with Lizard faeces, no shower gel, etc & had to pay an additional R500 for a double room, with 2 single beds. The single room also had 2 single beds, but the bathroom was down a hallway, through the guesthouse.

My room was nice but if they open a wall, put a door so that you can enjoy the ensuite. Its scary to wake up at night and get out of your room go through the passage just to pee in your bathroom which is outside your bedroom

The stay was horrific due to the appalling treatment we received from our host Wendy. She hurled abuse at us and talked to us in an abusive condescending tone. She made statements which were inflammatory, cast aspersions on our character and told us "back in the old days, the police would not hesitate to come and remove us forcibly from the property". The more more we tried to explain that our issue with her is her statements and tone the worse she reacted. She made statements about how she was incredulous about our version of events based on the fact that we speak "proper english" and are "educated". The property further had a damp moldy smell and the wooden floors were a bit mushy- I am not sure if this is result of the floods. The wi-fi was very poor. Wendy really made our stay unpleasant when there was no need to get nasty.

Walking distance to nearby malls and Kloof High where we attended a soccer tournament. Breakfast was 5 star and served on a beautiful veranda with morning sun and looking onto a lush garden.

The host let us know that the room we booked was unavailable which was kind of her to still accommodate us in a different room. The room we ended up staying in was alright but there wasn't a shower, only a bath which didn't have a shower hose. The host said that the price would remain the same but then she started requesting for more money which we eventually agreed I wouldn't have to pay as per the initial agreement. The dogs on the property were not ideal as there were 6+ dogs barking throughout the night and they would run out to our car. My partner had been attacked by Jack Russells before so he obviously was wary of them. Had we known they would be there and not be well controlled, we would not have stayed here. I know Kloof well and I think there are much better options to stay at far more reasonable prices.

Checkout was good as there was a box we could put the keys into and leave early. There was secure parking and a private entrance.
