Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaNo bar fridge in the rooms for our beverages. The chairs weren't comfortable. The sheets of the bed were itchy on my skin that could be due to detergent used to wash them.
The lodge is near the Graskop

South Africa1.Bathroom was very small 2.They had no iron for us in morning to use. 3.Restaurant and Bar area needs a 100% renovation make over. The restaurant food is average, dinner wasn't so good and breakfast was okay, not much options to select from. One standard plate is offered. we didn't get any good vibes in the evening from the restaurant, we ate in silent. No music background and wasn't so welcoming. Would be nice to use the view of the Gorge as their attraction and put some tables and chairs outside for some fresh air.
Love the location area it was convenient for us to go to the Gorge. Our room was clean and spacious. Maintenance staff was good and Kind to us

South AfricaThe bathroom was just a bit dated. The placement of the tub shower head was a bit harder to shower if you're taller and if you're showering when everyone in the lodge is getting ready at the same time in the morning, the hot water runs out, so if you plan around it, you'll be fine. There was some noise outside in the night both nights. But the room was good and it served it's purpose for us so would not let these things deter you from booking. We'll definitely be back for a visit. It also had a heater in it for the cold at night.
This was real value for money. You get free access to the Graskop Gorge if you show them your room key and only have to pay for activities. Breakfast is at the Gorge lift so you can walk on the suspension bridge for free to get to the Lift cafe or you can drive your car around so you have a good view of the Motitsi Waterfall and view of people doing the zipline and bungee jumping activity. The owners and cleaners at the lodge were lovely and very helpful if you have questions. Gareth even asked us whether we had been to certain spots so that we could enjoy all of the activities within the area. Fairly close by to attractions like Gods Window, and the Panorama route so very convenient for travel

South AfricaI stayed in the 2 sleeper unit. These rooms don't have a bar fridge, and adding one will be great. The showerhead was also a bit old and did not have great pressure, fitting in a new one will solve the problem.
The accomodation overall met my expectations. The receptionist was great and really helpful, and the owners of the restaurant were very accommodating. The free access to the Graskop Gorge was an awesome benefit.

South AfricaInside the chalets was outdated and looked like you went back in time. Furniture and bedrooms were outdated and the beddings looked 10 years old, it definitely needs an upgrade on linen and bedding. The outside environment does not match inside.
The location of the property was phenomenal however inside the chalets was very outdated.

South AfricaRooms certainly require better lighting. The TV screen is rather small. The lounge is cold and not cosey at all.
It was satisfactory for a one night stay. The close proximity to Graskop Gorge Lift where you get free entrance and discounts on meals was a win. The location is also close to other tourist attractions.
