How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The water in the shower was cold in the morning and I had to ask for a kettle to boil some water and a tub to bath in.
The location was a Sandton suburb and the property is very safe.

We really enjoyed our stay everything was like in the picture, it was very comfortable and clean, the place was secured and calm. We will definitely visit them again.

Was disappointed at time of check in apparently the Gate Remote Control was lost , so I had to ask the lady from the house to always open for me when I wanted to go out, she was very helpful and willing to help me, but it felt very awakward. Thank you Brenda for making my stay comfortable.
Did not have breakfast. Locations the best and the room was neat and clean all the facilities in the room were all in perfect condition.

The bed was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE think I need to emphasize that,too small for two but worst part about it is the bed is practically finished on one side,had to sleep on sinking titanic. Another small issue that I didn't like is that I had to pack my car outside for the night,yes the place is safe,secured and guarded but still ddnt make it easier knowing my parked is parked outside.
The room was clean, had fridge and microwave in the room plus kettles so everything was in one place.

Nothing really besides my favourite room not being available
The rooms are very spacious, I love big rooms , friendly and warmth of Brenda, Thembi is also nice, I was comfortable at the place and it is easy to get attached to such a place , the area is quite and safe

Wish there was visibility of staff , enquired about cleaning was told room gets cleaned once a week , the electricity tripped when trying to use the stove in the room, voice note I got was " I should have communicated if I need help " but with whom? I love the place anyway hopefully it is just misunderstanding would have been a 10 for me
The property is excellent I was comfortable, spacious very homely loved my room and the view , I was supposed to stay two nights but extended to four nights and booked additional 4 nights, if it was possible I would have booked for a month but was told it was booked

No staff visibility or assistance, electricity tripping , would rate this property 10/10 otherwise , I loved it and would highly recommend it , great secured area

Sadly the pool was not available for swimming during our stay.
Everything about the place is simply amazing. Such value for money and most importantly in a very safe area. I have no words to describe the wonderful staff, especially Brenda. I would definitely go back for another stay. Alot of space to move around and keep everything in arms reach. Even a load shedding light comes with the place.

I missed hangers in the cupboard, I was staying one night, so I did not even ask Brenda.
Very good location and wonderful staff Brenda!! The location is very close to my work place at Sandton. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. It's a safe and quiet area.

The pool wasn’t completely clean when we arrived. We didn’t get the rooms we selected on bookings.com but we appreciated the communication prior to our stay.
It’s located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood , the bedrooms were clean and they provided extra blankets for us. One of the rooms had a sleeper couch which worked well for our group. We were able to use the kitchen in the house and we liked the garden. The staff is friendly.
