Nothing. As other reviews have noted noise travels, and it’s slightly dated. But it’s perfectly clean and it all adds to the rustic charm of the bush lodge.

Communications with the hosts before our stay were excellent. We were provided with lunch recommendations pre check in. The property was exactly as pictured and described and had everything we needed as a family of 7 for our 3 night stay. An excellent choice for a budget friendly accommodation within the Dinokeng Reserve.

needs aircon as very hot upstairs especially. can hear road and party noise from nearby at night. a bigger area to sit outside would be good as says has a garden in post. maybe remove that.

One of the worst experiences of our lives.. not happy at all how we were treated by the management.. as per regulations on booking.com units are open for check in at 3pm and none of the units were clean or ready as per what this site rules are for new guests.. the booking was done at 2pm and check out for other guests is meant to be 11am so there was plenty time for units to be ready for new guests and this wasn't done.. we didn't even get an apology. We wait 2.5 hrs and the house we booked was still not done by 6pm.. we were told they have another unit available which was a tiny one bedroom Wendy house and the unit we paid for is a 4 bedroom log home on the water... I don't know how the management could this getting the small room ready in that time was even acceptable as to what we booked and paid for.. NOT HAPPY AT ALL AND WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE.. WE FOLLOW THE REGULATIONS ON THIS WEBSITE.. This was a internal issue that was made to be our fault for booking at 2pm.. it has nothing to do with guests that follow the rules... Online platforms for should not be used if the regulations can not be kept by the management of the property

It's a little bit noisy inside the house between the rooms. It didn't bother us but it could bother other people.

We booked very last minute, but got a very friendly welcome. The house was very cute and the beds were comfy. The pool was warm and the view on the water was beautiful. We heard the animals at night and loved it while we braaied and used the fire pit.

the bathrooms are delapidated old and dirty and inconvenient. the house is full of furniture so that one cannot move around freely and it is akward to get to certain things. the house feels grimy and dirty

The sliding door got stuck just when we were about to retire for the night but it was fixed by the on site staff.

The toilet was leaking through the wooded floor over the staircase entrance to the building, both showers were leaking through the floor when being used. The fans in the beds rooms does not help for the heat, helps to keep the mosquitoes away

Great location very need and tidy with everything we needed. The Braai area was nicely laid out and we enjoyed sitting chatting next to the fire.

The cabin itself is in need of alot of maintenance. It has very creeky floors you could not take a step without alerting all. There's no soundproofing between bedrooms which are back to back, so take ear plugs if you want to sleep. also there's a store room underneath so the smell of smoke came up through the floor boards into the bedroom. The showers are tired the one door wouldn't stay closed and the floor felt unstable.

I Loved the photos on bookings.com. The river that runs along side the rustic log cabin. I did not consider the time of year or the fact that the river might be bone dry as it was. The cabin is on stilts nice for getting a birds eye view onto the river. However living space is limited. And there are lots of stairs. So consider this when traveling with elderly. The 4 of us were more than enough to fill the living area we opened up the fold back doors and joined the lounge onto the patio for space and air. It was exceptionally hot and dry in late Sept. There was a Bar fridge in each of the down stairs rooms, and a fan in the one. (very necessary) Thank you. Great water pressure in the shower. Great hot water for dishes in the kitchen.

The stay was good but the house is cranky, one cannot move without waking other people up and it would have been nice to have at least one bathroom up stairs. Also that we had to pay extra for tidying the house.

Rebecca and David were immediately waiting for us and showed us around the house.
