We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

BelgiumI like the kitchen and the living room with the TV. The beds were good. The shower head threw me a bit off but there was clean water to shower nonetheless. The wifi was alright it worked, but it worked less in the bathroom and bed room area. They cleaned my room very nicely. Just the first day was a bit rough having the electricity cut off for a bit with no water or wifi but it came back. The gate key is easy to understand and use. The staff was kind to give me a ironing board without asking one because I hung up my chlotes on the racks outside. Overall a good place to stay for the time being. And the lights in the room were bright just wished there was like a dim or a night lamp to make things feel comfy and cozy.

South AfricaIt seems this place was used as staff quarters that they then decided to offer as a guesthouse but did not do any of the necessary upgrades. The only thing that was new was the beds in one of the bedrooms the rest of the place has clearly been neglected. They were not prepared for our stay at all. The staff didn't even seem aware of our stay when we arrived. We had to ask for towels, and an ironing board and iron. Upon arrival we noted that the place was cold, the staff told us that there were no heaters available for the unit. DSTV was listed but we were told that there is no DStv in this unit. This was not specified. There was a smart TV however. There was visible water damage and all the cupboards (bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom), were old and worn out. Some shelves were covered with wallpaper to hide the deterioration. The bedroom windows did not close properly and the bathroom window was cracked and rusted. The cold water bath tub tap was leaking. They came to 'fix' it but it continued to leak after that. There were also tiles missing from the bathroom wall. They use borehole water with no filter so water from the bathroom taps had some sand in it. They did however provide clean drinking water. The toilet pipes were noisy. The WiFi connection was weak.
The staff were friendly. We checked out a day early and I was refunded the remaining balance.
