A beautiful camp on an truly amazing location. You can watch wildlife and birds all day from the main area and from your tent. The staff was really hospitable and friendly and the food excellent. Tents comfortable and good beds and shower. It's a beautiful part of the Kruger park. The evening drives where nice and we had some nice sightings.

The walks itself where disappointing. I've done a lot of them all over SA so I know what to expect. (You don't always see as much wildlife) But we didn't see anything at all. To me it felt as if we where avoiding animals / encounters. Not following prints and sounds and walk areas with very low animal density because of the type of vegetation. It was like the guides heart wasn't in it.

The location, the walks and the sleep over in the bush. My second stay there and even better than the first one. GREAT FOOD! The guide tries very hard to find every single animal possible and he has been successful !

    Nothing.

The location is fantastic. Max 8 guests capacity. Food was excellent. Very quiet, no wifi, silence and nature with people looking at the same thing as you do.

Everything ok. The ranger was sometimes too serious but always correct.

Beautiful and comfortable tents. Area beautiful, Big 5 territory.

RWS is at the higher end of walking safaris and offers at first glance a high-end experience. However, the staff falls short with several little things that just makes this a good, not excellent, experience. Our guide Jan unfortunately had zero people skills and does not seem interested in staying at RWS very long. With a better guide it would have been a very good experience in which we could overlook the other, smaller shortcomings. The guide always makes or breaks the experience.

Different Lodge Experience with a part of walking safaris.

For an expensive night cost, you have no correct washing and shower system provided. The drinks are not included. Only small meals at midday...exactly at 15h30, just before safaris. During safaris, traditionnally a drink is offered... but if you have not well understood, no drink.... You have no intimity: the breakfast, lunch and dinner are shared with other guests and guide.... in english only...no effort no courtesy for french.... This system is interesting with attentioned guide...and other guests.... The meal and food was not in accord with cost... The more disappointing Lodge experience for us.

A walking safari is combined with a late afternoon and after dark game drive. There aren’t many opportunities to do either one of these activities in Africa. Daryl, the camp manager and principal guide, is a real character in the best sense of the word. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and that of his assistant guide. Getting exercise on safari is not easy to come by and this four day three night trip really helped to overcome that problem. Daryl was a master at spotting game. We had lots of lion and leopard sightings. Seeing them at night was so cool.

    We loved it all

Plains Camp is wonderful and really peaceful. Falling asleep and waking up with the fauna’s sounds is amazing. We woke up with the impalas at 100 meters from our tent and during the day we had elephants and kudus in front of the camp. The tent is spacious and the decoration is nice and simple, nothing is missing in the room and bathroom, a real 4 star accommodation. Beds are very comfortable. During the day you’ll have some time to relax in the cute little swimming pool and chill in the open lounge in front of that beautiful view. Highlights: the food was amazing and Darryl is the best guide and person we could dream of! He’s got so much knowledge and walking in the bush with him and Aurence (the second very good ranger), was one of the most amazing feelings we’ve ever had!

The only little inconvenient is that there was no electricity cause the generator was broken again. We actually enjoyed this because we really had the feeling to be immersed in the real wild and the atmosphere with the torches was beautiful. But for some people it might not be the same. A little advise for other guests, as we did not really understand this: at plains camp you do mainly walking (so the chance to see animals is smaller, but the walk is amazing). So if you also want to do game drives we advise to do some nights also at Rhino Post Safari.

Food was very good and they catered extremely well for the Vegan requirements as requested

No hot water for a day, which really should have been determined prior to arrival.
