Literally nothing to complain about

Rhino’s Rest really lives up to its name. I had a restful time with my family as we wrapped up a busy and blessed 2024. From the initial conversation, up until our checkout, Adél was so understanding, considerate and exemplified what it means to be a host par excellence. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the layout of the living space creates a feeling of openness and tranquility as it extends in to the bush. It made us feel very connected to our surroundings.

This place is beyond everything you ever dreamed of... The house is a 10/10, the location is a 10/10 and the beds are 10/10. The beautiful porch is a perfect space to enjoy the wildlife that is roaming freely around the house and to spend wonderful evenings with a nice crackling fire. And this is all because of Adel, a real gem! She did absolutely everything to make our stay unforgettable, making sure you relax and enjoy every minute. I cannot even find the right words that would honor her warm personality and her high level of professionalism. She's definitely a 20/10! We will come back for sure!

WOW, I don’t even know where to begin. The property exceeded all our expectations and was exactly as advertised and more. Adel the hostess, was thee greatest host, from the moment the booking was confirmed she kept contact with us and made sure our stay was a wonderful experience. Everything about the place including the surroundings were exquisite with spectacular scenary.

From start to finish our stay at Rhino’s Rest was fantastic and we didn’t want to leave! From the beautiful meat and cheese platter on arrival to the champagne and cake for a birthday everything was more than we could have imagined. Adél goes out of her way to ensure you have an amazing stay and the best text ever received “lions on the property - please be careful” was a significant highlight. The drives were well organised, flexible and relaxed - Adél provides the snacks and the home made dip was incredible! The house was spotless and getting laundry done an added bonus! We will definitely be returning soon!

We heard the road in a distance during rush hour, but this died away by 18:00 hours (no Civet Cat would dare to come close if it was disturbed by secondary noise).

Rhino's rest is a self catering accommodation within the Moditlo game reserve in Hoedspruit. This is a top luxury place with all amenities you can think of. One of our party had his birthday during our stay and the management surprised us with a huge birthday cake. We needed the full two days to 'process' it :-) . Via the nearby lodge we did the afternoon/night game drive and it was above our expectations. Good sightings of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Jackal, Rhino ... . To top it off a Civet Cat came to visit us during our late night braai. Amazing experience worth every Rand, Euro or Dollar you have.

Nothing, it was perfect!

Our family had the most incredible stay at Rhino's Rest during our holiday in South Africa. It was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip, largely thanks to the exceptional host, Adele. Her warm and enthusiastic welcome made us feel right at home, and her assistance throughout our stay was invaluable. The lodge itself was beyond amazing – spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with everything one could possibly need for a fantastic holiday. The attention to detail in every aspect of the lodge was truly commendable, contributing to an unforgettable experience. Of course, the real magic happened when we saw lots of animals in front of our lodge and during the safari experiences within the private reserve. Seeing lions, rhinos, cheetahs, and even a baby giraffe up close was an awe-inspiring experience that left us in complete awe of the natural world. The well-organized safaris added an adventurous touch to the stay, making it all the more special. Overall, I can confidently say that our stay at Rhino's Rest was the best part of our entire South African holiday. Adele's hospitality, the stunning lodge, and the captivating safari experiences combined to create an unforgettable and truly exceptional getaway.

There is nothing we did not like!

We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Rhino's Rest. The property itself is STUNNING! Everything is immaculately clean, beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked. We saw rhino everyday, lions mating, giraffe, elephant and all the game. Adél is an incredible, friendly and genuine host who made our stay everything we could have hoped for and more. Zodwana and Nelius do a fantastic job keeping the property clean and well maintained. We honestly cannot recommend Rhino's Rest anymore highly! We will be back!

A little bit of road noise from vehicles passing on the nearby R40. But not a dealbreaker in any way.

Everything was super clean and the welcome was so thoughtful! It really felt like a home away from home and had every piece of equipment and all the amenities you could want in a bushveld home.
