The en-suite in the main bedroom only had a bath with no shower. Considering we are still in the heart of winter with cold nights, we expected the beds to have electric blankets but unfortunately it did not.

Beautifuly decorated, greal hooks placed on walls and behund doors for hanging hats, jackate, towels etc a thing many places just lack ! Like the fireplace inside and lovely little dishwasher.

The information regarding our boat was not as accurate as I would have liked - it seems possible after all to rent a mooring at the lodge for the few days we were there. I would contact the lodge directly in this regard in future.

The location is beautiful with a river view from the little stoep. The mini dishwasher is a bonus. The fireplace (kaggel) inside is my personal favorite. The entire unit is well equipped and stylish. Small, but not cramped.

Not so private - lots of people walking past the unit and vehicles driving by, It wasn't a problem though. I suggest you also provide 2L (or more) of drinking water as the tap water isn't drinkable. We arrived late so couldn't buy water. I got desperate, so had to drink some tap water and got terrible diarrhoea from it. Not pleasant.

Great location on the river. Very comfortable, with everything we needed. I loved that a litre of milk was provided - thank you!

Steep stairs to second bedroom (might be challenging for small children and elderly parents). The driving from Cape Town might be long for the weekend, but great for a 3-night stay.

The cottage is spacious, safe and has secure parking. Beds and linen are very comfortable, the shower is good, cable TV and internet work fine. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms with enough space for a family of four, with an additional day bed in the downstairs room. Beautiful partial view of the river and all one needs in the kitchen for braai and light cooking. Restaurant and pub within the property with breakfast, lunch and dinner options and a river and sunset view from the deck.

In all honesty it exceeded our expectations and we can not think of anything we would change, or that should be improved.

It was a beautiful self catering two bedroom cottage, within a secure complex, that had everything, The parking was secure, the view spectacular and the accommodation itself exceeded our expectations. There is a swimming pool, and a restaurant that we unfortunately did not have time to visit. We would definitely recommend the cottage and area to anyone thinking of visiting Witsand.

The unit is located next to the road and main entrance of the complex and the pedestrian gate. It was noisy, especially early in the morning and we had to keep the curtains closed all the time for privacy.

The unit inside was spacious and comfortable with lovely furniture and decor. Modern kitchen with everything you need for a few days. The location of the complex is great if you want easy access to the river and fishing.

the hosts thought of everything. From extra cutlery to mosquito spray and 1st aid kits . We enjoyed our stay so much and the place was so clean and homey. The staff were so friendly and they even cleaned our bbq facilities. we were amazed and will definitely visit again.

It was beautifully and tastefully decorated…the bed was super comfortable with lovely linen, soft towels and everything you need in the kitchen. Comfy sofa, just the right sofas/chairs on the stoep. Lovely view of the river and the breeze ..

The awkward stairs and endless amounts of spiders. load shedding was a massive issue as it was quite hot and could not use the fan. The fire alarm went off once every night, which may have been due to the load shedding.
