The only problem was road noise from the main road, it is not quiet.

The self-catering of the facility is excellent, best stocked with required needed appliance and equipment of for a great stay. The people are great and scenery very nice.

Lovely weekend getaway close to Dullstroom. Beautiful location. We stayed in a comfortable homely unit called Cozy. It has a farm house style vibe with a nice fireplace. Our hosts Sanette and Keron were friendly and down to earth. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Schaefer's Halt is beautiful - even in bare winter - a real retreat with loads of gems to capture on canvas; lovely walks to unwind in nature, or relax on a bench with a view. Owners Keron and Senette are attentive, friendly, and generous with their efforts to ensure their visitors' comfort. I stayed in the Snug - the smallest unit - and it was perfect for my purpose (the fireplace worked overtime:-)).It is stylishly decorated with nostalgic reminders of its noteworthy history. Can't wait to see how it flourishes in the summer.

Place is as it is on the pictures and more, spacious rooms with all the utilities and extra(umbrellas, hiking sticks, candles, lanterns,etc) anything you want. Enjoyed my anniversary stay and in the middle of shops and all. Thank you a mil Sinette, a great hostess and definitely coming back

Last 5-6km of the road conditions to the farm. Overall travelling to there from Dullstroom was not too bad.

Farm offers lovely walking trails and it is excellent for birding. The host was so warm and friendly. Cottages kitted out very well.

Although 20 minutes out of Dullstroom, this is a perfect country getaway. The owners have done well balancing luxury and rustic feel. The well marked 3km trail to a waterfall was a highlight. We stayed in the snug cottage which is just that...small but snug with a fireplace in the bedroom for those cold winter nights. Beautiful surroundings with three smallish dams on the property. Very friendly hosts made us feel welcome. A must stay for anyone wanting to get away into the countryside for a weekend.

The road just outside the property has very big potholes, so keep your eyes peeled

Senette and Keron, the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. The grounds are just beautiful and the hiking was great.
