    4km out of town on a very bad road made it a challenge as did the intermittent internet service. Fireplace needs replacing.

    Large comfortable space with all the amenities and Nick looked after us magnificently.

    Pond needs some attention. My fireplace was smoking up the room so I couldn't use it.

    Unfortunately, the only sign showing guests where the accommodation was located, was broken in half. There was no real communication on when the manual and strenuous gate to open, should be locked. Often we'd find the gate half open after returning from exploring, which made us question our safety and safety of belongings. Mostly probably the *biggest* concern and frustration on our side was that we went to Hogsback during Winter, obviously expecting hot water as an essencial. However, it seemed such a luxury was not afforded to guests. The gas geyser would heat the water to blazing hot and cool down to ice cold every +- 30 seconds. I own a gas geyser similar to the one at the accommodation; however, I have not experienced this problem and I am an engineer. Another issue we experienced, which occurred during loud shedding, was that no load shedding lightbulbs or external supplies for loadshedding were ensured. Guests were not informed that there would be no backups during loadshedding supplied by the accommodation centre. As usually if you are paying for comfort, guests would expect the owners to ensure they make investments such as a generator on the property per say. Another major issue - the lack of water preassure from the taps? During loadshedding we would have no water preassure? So that means when we had no electricity, we then had no hot water and no water pressure at all to do dishes or anuthing. Furthermore, interestingly the gas stove provided, which would normally help during loud shedding, required electricity to ignite. However, we managed to work around and ignite it manually even though it may have been a safety risk to those who are unfamiliar with a gas stove. The biggest issue is most definitely the hot water which was an issue during loadshedding and even when guests had electricity, the unpredictability of the scorching hot water which would then turn to ice cold water was not very pleasant, especially during winter. Thank you.

    Positively, the place was neat and tidy upon entering the accommodation with clean linen and the basics provided in terms of tea and coffee facilities, cutlery, and extra warm blankets. Overall, better communication between guests and staff is important. Maybe a printed notice left in the flats could be supplied. For example matters such as where to leave your keys when checking out. That firewood will be brought to your cottage. Communication on the gas stove. Provisions or lack thereof for loadshedding so guests can be prepared. Or that one should always lock the gate etc etc is vital. We do hope that the following feedback is constructivly taken in such a manner that improves such aspects for future guests, including ourselves...
