Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

I loved everything. Our gracious hosts were there to meet us on arrival. Beautiful clean and room with quality furnishings. Touch of class with fresh flowers in the bathroom and treats on the bed. Peaceful courtyard area where you can sit and enjoy your day

Everything was perfect.
Andrew and Daryl were extremely lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. They definitely went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. The place was clean and comfortable and there are many things to do in the area. Will definitely be going back.

The hosts are absolutely incredible. Daryl and her husband are so inviting and accommodating, we were even offered a tour of the reserve from the moment we entered the premises. The room was exceptionally clean and we loved the look and feel of the courtyard! The finishes in the bathroom are stunning and the shower is very spacious. Would highly recommend staying here if you plan to do some sight seeing around the midlands.

We really enjoyed the tranquility and comfortable environment. The venue is wonderfully central for the Midlands Meander. Our room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Absolutely loved the coffee station.

Wonderful Hospitality by the hosts. A place is often defined by its people. The hosts were extremely warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and exciting. They are passionate about their surroundings and happy to share and give a taste of life at La Loggia. Very genuine and authentic people and will highly recommend this place because of that. There are a variety of animals on the estate like zebra, bucks, blesbok, eland and cows. You see alot of them on the estate. There are a variety of bird species that come to the courtyard and drink from the fountain. It is in close proximity to restaurants, pubs and other activities. There are lovely dam spots for fishing, picnics and strolls.

There was nothing not to like.
Daryl is an exceptional host. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Everything was explained to us and recommendations made for activities in the area. The facilities were exceptional. Lovely place to stay and would highly recommend a stay when you're in the midlands.

The space was beautiful and peaceful. The tea/coffee unit in the room was a lovely surprise with fresh milk, rusks and even some yogurt and muesli for breakfast. I loved the electric blankets and the heater if needed. The hosts were very friendly and inviting.

What an absolute delight to stay at The Courtyard at La Loggia. A beautiful place. Good and warm hosts, Daryl and Andrew. They made us feel so special. We enjoyed the stories about the life in the estate, the history of the estate and everything that makes the place truly special and memorable. We can't wait to visit again.
