    Room was comfortable

1.We waited for almost 20 minutes at the gate, but the contact number that we had was not going through. 2. The occupants next to our room was smoking it the room and the smoke was all over the room.

    Property response:

We apologise for the inconvenience of having to open the gate for you manually. The gate operates through Cell C and the cell phone number you provide us with. The power in the cell tower area was off for 7 days, and therefore, there were no cell phone signals. As you live in South Africa, I am sure you are used to this fact, as it happens all around our country. The rooms are fitted with smoke alarms, which get tested regularly. The neighbours could not be smoking in their room as this sets off the alarm. Your room is located near a smoking area, and we do apologise if smoke entered your room with the windy conditions we had. Please take note of the fact that on Booking.com, we clearly state that smoking is allowed only in the designated areas. Also, please take note that you were provided with the telephone numbers of three hosts who live on site and are there to assist with any complaints. You did not lodge a complaint; otherwise, we would have remedied the situation immediately. Regards, Frederick

Quite and place that have peace

No air conditioner it was very cold and remote for the gate every time I leave and return I must call the staff . White lady who I was sharing with her coming to my room tell us we should remove our wet underwear from the bathroom as her husband didn't feel well and also we should close the TV it's late we disturbed them with, we I tried to report to the staff about that couple they told me the husband is the owner and it's not the first time she abuse guests. Can please speak with that white lady be she chase us from your place.

    Property response:

Dear Ma'am, If you had read the information provided on Booking.com, you would see that we clearly do not have air conditioners. This is because we run off solar power, which cannot support air conditioners. The entire area did not have Eskom power, which caused the Cell C cell phone tower to lose signal. The gate uses Cell C, which you dial from your phone to open and close. This is entirely beyond our control. There were, however, three staff on duty who opened for you, as you correctly state. The lady whom you are complaining about was another paying customer who shared the bathroom with you. You are correct in that she did complain about your two pieces of wet underwear you saw fit to drape over the towel rails in a public bathroom. Nowhere in any guesthouse is it acceptable to drape your wet underwear over the towel rails in a public bathroom. It is very disrespectful and unacceptable to other guests. Under the house rules, it is clearly stated that after 22h00, it is quiet time and noise should be kept to a minimum. If the other guest was disrespectful to you, there were three staff members on duty whom you should have reported it to. My name is Frederick, and I am the owner. If you look at my profile picture, you will see that my wife is Chinese, and we have been married for 20 years. The staff member in question is also willing to make an affidavit stating that she never told you anything that you are alleging she did. I don’t understand why you would put an innocent lady’s job at risk. This is very upsetting. Regards, Frederick
