The Studio is like a home away from home. Everything is so thoughtfully put together. Decent size coffee mugs, glasses etc. The extra touches with the milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate! Even marshmallows to roast in the fire. Wood, charcoal and firelighters provided for the braai and the fire. Beds are super comfy with lots of blankets. It's all just been fantastic.

I didn't like leaving this peaceful place.

The Studio is impeccably clean. They have every appliance you might need, top quality cooking equipment and utensils. The decor is detailed and the outside table under the awning is a beautiful place to eat meals together. The fireplace is well stocked, like the rest of the place, everything is thoroughly thought out and provided for by the attentive host.

A short stretch of dirt road to get to property although it is manageable.

A truly amazing and peaceful stay in this beautifully decorated studio . It has a fully stocked kitchen , comfy beds and the personal touches of chocolate on each bed and a welcoming. It definitely has a country feel with the gentle mooing of the cows in the backyard. Our hostess Shelagh was phenomenal The home is very close to freeway and shops. This home will definitely feature on our have to stay in again list😀

Awe inspiring!! I could easily live at the Gallery! Just up my alley! Tastefully furnished, spacious.. had everything we needed and more! Loved waking up to the sight of beautiful cows outside our bedroom window… Loved the attention to detail and Shelagh’s artwork! The homemade muesli and Hot chocolate went down extremely well 😉 I’d recommend this space anytime because it’s certainly going to be my go to in Hilton..

The studio at Aloes Farm is a beautiful property. It is serene and safe, bucolic and pastoral. The interior decor is very well done and the beds were very comfortable. As beautiful as the property is, it was the hosts that made it such a special experience. They were communicative and kind and went above and beyond with their hospitality. We would recommend this property to anyone traveling in the Hilton or Pietermaritzburg area.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Gallery. It was easy to communicate with Shelagh from the first email that I shared with her. She was there on our arrival and her friendly and kind welcome set the tone. The facilities were very good: kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor furniture. The venue is decorated with her lovely art, and the muesli was a hit. She left several welcome treats for us, and I especially valued the birthday acknowledgement. We had a wondeful time.

Our hostess was so pleasant and accommodating for us. The cottage is lovely and so comfortable! The cottage is decorated with Shelagh’s art which is quite beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very little. As is often the casein, It was somewhat rainy and cool when we arrived but access to an open fireplace (well provided with wood and fire making accessories) as well as efficient well panel heaters ensure a cosy stay.

This is a superlative place to stay and I am planning to make it a final destination, rather than a stopover, as soon as I can. There is just too much to say from the attentiveness of the hosts, the well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge.

The only downside was my dog was a bit too curious and got electrocuted one too many times by the electric cattle fence surrounding the property. A major, Nevertheless, because we'll definitely be back! It was a perfect weekend

Aloe farm has truly been an amazing experience. The house is gorgeous, as it is outside. The pictures actually didn't do justice to this beautiful place where the farm style cottage exterior meets 5 star luxury interior. The place was spacious and had everything we needed and more! The little homely yet elegant touches made it even more of a special place. Shelagh has truly thought of a pet owners welcome from instructions on all appliances and switches to a Pet treat box filled with pet blankets and towels to keep your pets clean and warm. The view from "The Gallery" was spectacular, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood hiking trails with my dogs.
