A peaceful stay in the bush.

The tents are far from the parking lot, and people with mobility issues might find it difficult to negotiate. The paths to the tents are uneven gravel and most sections of the path has no lighting - so bring a flashlight to go to dinner at night.

Location is very good in the bush. It is directly outside the Kruger National Park (Orpen gate). The breakfast and dinner included in the price was very delicious, and they took my Gluten free requirements into account. The staff is wonderful and so friendly. Although there are no animals in the camp, they offer game drives to the Kruger and to the Manyeleti Game Reserve next door.

It is extremely rustic, which is charming however, the shower was not hot and very temperamental, And the toilet leaked. Organized Game drive seemed overpriced - as they charge per person and we were in a large group. No concessions for locals

Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Location was excellent for Kruger Park.

Showers could be a bit more consistent with the hot water.

Perfect location to explore Manyeleti and Kruger. Right next to the Orpen Kruger Gate and Manyeleti. Lovely tents very comfortable. Includes brekky and dinner so great value.

The tents are well positioned and have good facilities, but not great. Our units bathroom stank, and the shower was extremely difficult to prepare to the correct temperature.

This camp was incredibly well positioned, access to Manyeleti and Kruger are simple from here. The staff here are lovely and their food is very good. The bed was very comfortable.

We enjoyed the whole experience. My only criticism is the directions/signage to the camp could improve.

The staff are extremely friendly and really helpful. We were accommodated with a number of special requests (traveling with a baby often necessitates this). The dinner was absolutely amazing and breakfast decent. The camp is a community run co-op which just adds to the charm of the place. Our tent was neat and decently spacious with a comfy bed. The tents do not have any plugs. So charge your phones or bring power banks.

No power points in the tents - lights are on solar so we had to get hot water for coffee etc from the kitchen in a flask. However, this is a minor issue and certainly didn't spoil our stay.

The Wild Olive Tree Camp is an authentic example of REAL African hospitality. Ingrid is a lovely host who made sure we were well looked after. The kitchen staff lead by Happy who is the Head Chef, are very talented. The food was truly great, with big tasty portions. They also have a full bar available. The tents are very rustic and quite basic... With the best feature being no to very little cell phone reception... I loved this because I could truly unwind and relax. They beds are VERY comfortable. Added bonus is it is literally right next to the Kruger National Parks Orpen Gate. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and affordable getaway. The best thing about The Wild Olive Tree Camp is all the proceeds go back into the community - not a faceless corporate.

The hot water - pressure was like a storm LOL, however we did have warm water which was a bonus

It was a superb experience. The staff were very professional and made us feel at home. Dinner and breakfast are more or less a set menu, and well prepared, tasty and sufficient. We loved the rustic experience with the personal touch.

From the moment we arrived we were at ease. The staff were very friendly. Room was clean and simple. Dinner was amazing (we were not expecting a 3 course meal!) and we expected a continental style breakfast (as their site said) but there was cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, bacon and eggs, toast, jam, coffee. This was real value for money and I'd recommend it.

Breakfast starts at 7 which for game viewing in Kruger is way too late, a packed breakfast is possible for pickup at 5:15 but its completely soaking wet everything is packed in one ziplog, bread, piece of fruit, boiled egg, carton drink. Far from ideal and a few small changes would massively change the packed breakfast, but it gets you through the morning. TIP - when arriving in Kruger park Orphen gate there is a small shop that sells good coffee and also has a small shop and refrigerated items. Satara has a massive shop for bread, veggies and all other items which you could need for a picknick meal. In the tents there is Light available, but no fan or 230 V outlets. Charging camera's or phones is a challenge if you are depended on 230 V. No wifi (could be considered a bonus) We had temperatures 42 C during the day and 23 C during the night, a fan would have been welcome.

It's close to Orpen gate at Kruger National park. The location is run by the local community. The staff tries to accomodate you as much as possible. Pool is a very nice welcome during the hot afternoons/evenings.
